| Post subject: | roadblock in conversation |
i got stuff like talking with chicks , making them laugh, c&f, teasing, negging under control .. i can do all this .. . but there is constant roadblock .. i dont have very interseting things going on in my life ... all i do is work, study, workout ... this is all i do ... let me present a situation .. i would be neggin a girl about her life ... how she needs to go out , doesnt have a very interseting life ,.... until when she turns it around ... she asks me so what do you do for fun .... thats like a roadblock to me as other than work outside really dont have a life ............ another roadblock is when a girl asks me if i have a girl friend ... i got a reponse to it .. NO. the other question that usually follows is have you ever had one ,,,.... why dont you have one.... what are some good responses to both situations |

1. Do something crazy at least once a week. Eg. Jump of a bridge into a river, climb a mobile phone tower, go caving. Then you can tell the girls all the crazy stuff you get up to. 2. Find your passion and aim towards that, then you can tell girls all about it. (I'm currently having issues with this myself.) 3. HB: Why dont you have a girlfriend? Me: I already have a pet parrot and two pet ferrets, I'm not sure if I have enough room for one, and besides what would I feed her. (I have used this one before and it works a treat. Just smile while your saying this. It's so funny if you do it right!) |

This has always annoyed me, why does every damn story have to be about the time you and Jack Nicholson saved the earth from the invaders from Planet Kersplunk, or the time you went skydiving while wrestling an alligator in front of the US Senate!? Look, you have plenty of great stories from your work, your studies or your life in general. Just tell her about the professor that was so distracted he once showed up without his pants, or how you have this coworker with the craziest hair-do you've ever seen. It doesn't matter so much the content, aslong as you tell it with PASSION! If she can feeeeeeel the passion you have about your studies/your work/whatever, then you don't have to fend off the Army of Darkness every wednesday just for the sake of a good story. Be passionate about your subject, and then you can talk about your cat for all she cares. The other solution: LIE! Now the trick here is to make the lie so outrageous that she knows you're lying. Example: HB: So what do you do for fun? YOU: Well, lately I've been hanging out with Elvis alot, also I'm getting guitarlessons from Hendrix or I can be found shooting hoops with Obama. Keep it going, making more and more outrageous statements even if she calls you out on them ("No really, yesterday I found a cure for cancer before lunch, I beat Kasparov at chess (of course I played without the Queen so he had a some kind of chance). Remember to be cocky/funny about it. antic: The girlfriend reply is hilarious and pure brilliance! |

I had this same problem a while back. I got over the AA and then pushed through random openers and whatnot, until it came time to just have a coversation. I didn't have any DHV stories of my own, and conversations usually ended quickly with my dismissing myself. What I did to fix this was keep a journal of everything that happened to me and around me throughout the timeframe of a week. This allowed me to bring more conciousness into my life and helped me do what women do naturally- express and detail their lives. We all live interesting lives no matter how boring we may think they are, it's just that, as men, we typically don't have the verbal prowess to express ourselves. Once I put my life into writing, I realized that there actually were events and times in my daily life that could be viewed as interesting, and I had processed these events into my mind as normal events that didn't stand out. By bringing this extra amount of conciousness into my life, I was able to expand my verbal capabilities, and conversations were easier to manage. Of course, this extra bit of effort continues to this day, and it's gotten to the point I no longer need to write down things as they happen. Hope this helps, and remember, women surprisingly lead much more normal (boring) lives that we give them credit for. They can't wait to hear what you have to say. |

For great stories/things you do during the week, just tell them like its awsome and amazing you can make the most mundane things sound good if you say it like its the best thing to happen to anyone ever!!!! |
