| Post subject: | Meeting up with a girl from the past |
I have mentioned this a bit in the chat but it's getting close to when I should set up the date, I'm gonna ask for help in here. I was on the way to a date last Tuesday when a girl I went to junior high with (I've seen maybe 2-3 times since she moved away, downtown, at a friends place etc.) got out of her car. I made eye contact with her, called her over. We chatted for a bit to catch up, I said hello to her friend who was with her.. I mentioned that I saw that she was going on some trips through Facebook. She says to me, "We should meet up for a beer sometime. Facebook me!" I said yeah, kept talking for a bit longer and when I cut the interaction to get to my date, she finished off by saying "So, yeah, facebook me!" I went on my way, they stalled then were walking behind me and at the end of the cross-walk they both started going my way then cut back the other way. I did facebook her last week asking about getting together she said "Haha!! Yes!! I'm away this weekend but next weekend?!!?" I said that was fine and everything, that we'll chat when she gets back. So, here's my issue: I'm into this chick (always was) and I don't want it to be "friends from the past meeting up", I want it to be, "Guy from the past is cool and sexy, I wanna meet up with him and see where things go." So how can I ensure that through setting up the weekend date with her, that it's clear there are more than just friendly intentions here.. I'm assuming attraction but it's more difficult for me since I analyze the 'history' aspect of the whole thing, rather than interacting with a brand new chick and no preconceived notions. Just wanna play this one right and escalate, but my mind is playing tricks on me with this one. |

Yes you are correct that you need to escalate. Friends don't escalate with each other, lovers do. Calibrate and escalate early so you will see where things are at and it will more likely become sexual so you will not get friendzoned. |

Yeah I'm just wondering if there's a way to do some escalation during the messages leading to establishing the day and time of the meet up.

Any particular reason you didn't get her number? "Gimme your number. I'll make you fall in love with me over text and we'll see about that beer later". There you go. Friend frame is out the window. Playfulness is there, intrigue is there, lame ass facebook isn't. |

Thought about it after.. kicked myself for it. I was just caught up in the moment since it came out of nowhere and I didn't expect her to ask me to meet up again.
