I read you only text to set up dates and all but when and how long i should wait to call/set up a date after getting her number? any tips on ways to ask if i can call or just ask or just call?

You will get a lot of different answers for this. Truthfully, it just depends. I've texted/called girls right away and got laid, and I've waited for days and had the same results. Generally wait 2 days +/- a day

It isn't a bad idea to send a text saying "hey whats up", when she replies "nothing" say, "can i call you?"

but generally tell her when you or going to call or just call

It's up to you, whether you're schedule or hers is on the right time... the other guy's right. have u asked the date of ur date? If ur both free on a date, you can plan and tell her that, 'hey, lets meet up on this place on date', and w8 4 her reply. she will have time for you if she is interested.

After I get the # i txt 20 mins later saying "Hey its [name] we just met at [wherever] , [tease her about somthing you guys talked about] then say Im super busy this week im going to call you tomorrow and figure out a time we can get together .

and thanks everyone i actually kinda did the same thing what someone said up there. i asked what she was doing and she said laying in bed...i called her. she said 'hey i didn't expect a call from you hahaha glad you did' so i think im good with her. we talked for an hour.
