Hi, so i've met this chick online (facebook) and we really hit it off. we then moved to texting and chatting on the phone. but recently it seems she is avoiding me and wont pick up my calls/texts(i usually just call here every other day), would it be because i suggest we meet up for dinner? i am confused and lost here. shes the first girl i've trully liked in a while and i want to do as much as i can to get this relationship going. what should i do? any tips or advice is greatly appreciated! |

I'll start by saying that the amount of attraction and comfort that one can build through texting is incredibly limited. You have a little bit more flexibility through an actual phone call but even then it's bleak. Ideally, the phone is just a tool used to bridge the gap between times when you see each other. Unfortunately it doesn't always pan out that way and you have to fall back on straight-up phone game. You shouldn't not have been talking to her so regularly. Vary the amount of attention you give a girl and avoid becoming predictable. And dinner? That's a terrible suggestion for a day 1 with a girl you've never met. Way too typical and scary. You would have gotten a better response had you invited her to something less threatening. Try to think about it from her perspective: dinner, alone, for an extended period of time with a guy she's never met. Way too intimidating. Ideally, you should have invited her to something fun with some other people in your social circle and encouraged her to invite a friend. Then the pressure isn't completely on you two interacting and she can bounce if it goes awry. The only way I'd recommend dinner with an open set, is if you two are cooking it at her place or yours (ideally yours). Lay off contacting her, give her time to miss you, and then offer her something non-threatening. |
