Post subject:  How to proceed...??
So I'm a fairly new PUA, so I still find myself guilty of the AFC tendencies sometimes. I met this girl today at work, (I work at a deli and she was a customer). Solid interaction, and ended with her number and her happy to give it. I've heard mixed theories about how long to wait to text, but I"m of the school of thought that you should text the same day to keep you 'fresh' in their head. I texted her, and we wrote a few messages back and forth, and the mojo was pretty good. Her last message didn't require a response, so I didnt' text back. I dont' think I've screwed anything up, but I'm going to post our conversation on here. Please give me any advice/comments on how I played my part, as well as advice when the next best time to hit her up again would be, and how you would do so. Thanks for the advice.

Our Conversation.

Me: Hey pretty girl. Now you have my number too. ;)

Her: Haha hey:) what did you say your name was again? Ha sorry I'm bad with names

Me: That's funny. Lol. Luke is the name. Better not forget it this time... ;)

Her: Well it's saved in my phone now soooo it would be really hard for me to forget it lol

Me: Touche. Okay fine. You win this time. Don't get used to it though. lol

Her: Boy you better just get used to losing :)

Me: Lol. Not going to happen, chica. lol. You're in trouble now. It's on like Donkey Kong. lol

Her: Haha alright i can handle it!


This is where I stopped texting. Ideas/comments?

Stop texting her like a little wuss and give her a call. Just say whatever is on your mind, literally! You have to learn how to get out of the protective shell you're in. Your a man(I hope) and it's your duty to be one and act like one. In order to succeed with girls you have to think long term not short term. Meaning it's not all about just one girl. You have to get confidence. This is done by being yourself and stop doing things that will make the girl happy and instead do things that make you happy. So go call her and tell her what's on your mind. And most importantly have fun with it! Good luck!

Confidence comes with experience and knowledge of a system. I am very much a man, and actually fairly confident overall. I like myself, and have a fairly good self image. I appreciate your sentiment, but I don't think my confidence is an issue here at all. I'm not at all scared to call her as you imply. My greatest strength in my game so far is that I have balls of steel. (I still get AA, but so do the best. I'm pretty good with dealing with that end of it.)
The fact remains that there are certain bad things to do and certain good things to do when courting a female/male. Like any animal, we have certain rituals and games we play during this courtship period. I'm asking for help in the sense of being curious about what others would think would be a good next move. That's all. I'm not intimated to call her or whatnot. I simple am trying to play a nice middle ground between needy and too distant. 0

I'm not opposed to the fact that you texted her. As good of a DHV a solid phone call can be, let's remember it is 2012. Texting is simply more common than calling. It would behoove us all to learn some basic text game.

As far as your conversation goes, I would say, above all else, nix the lol's and emoticons. At the very least, make sure you use these things less than she does. You out-emoticon her 2-1 and out lol/haha her 5-4 (3 in one message). Lol's show a lack of confidence in one's statement (akin to laughing at one's own joke). Keep it short and simple, and lead the conversation without apology.

Overall, it's pretty good banter text game. It may not be fully alpha, but it's not obliquely beta either. You show signs of promise (teasing her about forgetting her name, challenging her...). Interesting read.
