Can you build emotional connection with a girl based on her negative toughts about herself?

Like if she thinks that she`s fat,how can you show her you understand and agree with her,and can this result in her feeling closer to you?

Don't listen to girls telling you they are fat. They are fishing for compliments. If they truly thought they had a weight problem and they told you they feel they are fat, they wouldn't mind your repling "yes you do need to lose a few pounds.."

yeah I guess you could do that. Maybe not agree but say something like "I don't really care what other people think of me so I'm not really bothered about things like that"

If you build comfort based on negative stuff you will become the shoulder to cry on and get stuck in the LJBF zone. In order to get anywhere you need to make her feel good around you, use positive stuff. Not saying you shouldnt be understanding but look at it this way:

She feels bad in general, there are two ways to solve it. Either you understand the thing she is complaining about at the moment, like fixing the symptom. Or you bring her joy and her problems wont seem so bad anymore.
