I work pretty closely with a girl who I believe has avoidant personality disorder. If your unfamiliar with it, here is what wikipedia says: Avoidant personality disorder[1] (or anxious personality disorder)[2] is a personality disorder recognized in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders handbook in a person characterized by a pervasive pattern of social inhibition, feelings of inadequacy, extreme sensitivity to negative evaluation, and avoidance of social interaction. I'm really starting to like this girl. I had a understanding of this disorder before I met her, so I kind of adjusted to it in a way that I did not offend her and such. Being easy on the negs and things... since she is so sensitive to what other people think of her. I would say I'm in the comfort building stages now. She feels a lot more comfortable around me than she did when we first met. Does anyone have any experience with girls with this disorder? I looked through the posts on here and there's not much about gaming this rare breed. Please share anything you can about it. Thanks! |

they make a new psychological disease or disorder every day .... if they can't find anything they just focus on some flaws and they come up with a fancy name for it .. disorder blbalblabla.... just treat her like a normal human being she is just a introvert girl .. who doesn't go out alot and isn't always social... she probaby got some stress because she isn't getting some things done like investing in her career. because someone looks hot doesn't mean they have to be social .. not all woman are social or extroverted. |

Why wouldn't I want to date her? It's not her fault she has problems. She's very nice and respectful... not easy to find these days. Just curious as to your reasoning for your question...

I agree- just cause she is introverted it doesn't mean shes got a "disorder". Quiet girls like that are usually very good LTR material. Work on growing a connection with her and show that she's safe to be herself with you. |

Thanks Missel. Do you have any experience with these kind of girls? I've never met a girl quite like her. She kind of reminds me of myself in a lot of ways or what i wish I could be.

Actually yes I do have experience with these types of girls cause I am like that myself (despite what my online personality seems to be) A girl like that will do lots of shit testing to see if you have the same values, are a good match etc. because she's not into superficial connections but something REAL. It takes a long time to build comfort but she's usually worth it cause if you do get her she's extremely loyal, loving and supportive and maybe even a freak

Hmm... I agree with everything you are saying, however I can't say that she shit tests me much.. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing...

Dude... I think I realized I'm madly in love with her. I want to die because I'm in so much pain right now. The slightest move makes me jealous. I feel horrible! It's just a horrible situation I can't really explain right now. It would be very difficult for me to be with her and it's killing me.. Did anyone ever have a situation where you really wanted her and you knew you couldn't have her? Erh i want to die I'm so depressed. |
