Hello all. My girlfriend last night told me that she (and her family) were leaving the city when we got out of college (Approximately 1 year and a half) ... I know its still a long time, we've been together already for 16 months, but when she told me this, I didn't expected it. And now, I find myself sad. Who knows if we'll even last together another year and a half, I hope so, but I'm finding trouble being happy knowing that she will leave, and while it is still a long time to be with her, I can't find comfort in knowing that when the time comes, she will leave. I told her that we shouldn't think about it, and just enjoy the time we have left, big mistake she bursted into tears. I don't know, maybe things change in 1year and a half, but I really was starting to see her as a part of my life in the long future, and yesterday while driving home, and at my bed at night al this memories started hitting my head and I started crying when picturing my life without her. What can I do? Besides try and spend every day we have left in the best way possible? |

A lot can happen in 1.5 years. Maybe you won't still be together then. I wouldn't worry for the moment. If in a years time you are still going strong you will have to make some sacrifices to make it work. A friend of mine recently left everything behind and move to NYC to be with his girl. That's not easy but if it is the real thing then it become a sacrifice worth making. |
