Gentlemen,

I'm going to get married this summer. The backdrop information is what makes the whole issue a bit complicated. So please, bear with me on this. It will make sense. I hope :)

Situation:

I met my gf 8 months ago in Greece, 3 days before she had to leave the country for work. She's a 29 years old American who was only in Greece for a couple months taking some teaching courses.


Initial Contact:

From the first night i met her we had unbelievable connection. Compatibility rankings were off the fucking chart, our personalities just meshed seemlesly. I only saw her 2 nights before she had to leave for Thailand where she found a job opening as a English (as a second language) teacher. We had no more than 18 total hours together before she left.


The next Month:

We continued talking on SPAM and wrote like 5 emails a day each. After a few days she asked me if I wanted to come and visit her next month which made the entire "relationship" feel more real.

Anyway I went and it was ridiculously fun. Not one awkward moment, best sex of her life (and mine), laughter and I know this is cheesy, but happiness. I have never been so blissfully happy as I am when I'm with this girl.

The next 6 months up till Present Day:

Every single day after that first trip there was SPAM chat AND cyber sex, AND a nightly/ and every morning/ email exchange and it never really got boring. I visited her again a month later in July, and in October she visited me for 3 weeks. So it's getting serious. At which point we both started talking about how we could make this thing real. Otherwise were just wasting each other's time.

Situation Now:

She's willing to move to Greece permanently just for me. Good news because I doubt I'd be willing to leave Greece for anything. Marriage is the only way she can stay here permanently and we've both agreed we should do it this summer when she finishes her contract at in Thailand.

I had some doubts in the beginning because i'm only 25. But I feel like I've had more than enough shallow meaningless relationships to know when the real thing comes along. I dont want to lose her over a contract which can be annulled at the end of the day anyway. I'm gonna take the lunge!

My advice: i think you should seek other forms of advice aside from this forum. This is a pick-up-artist forum, the majority of people replying to this thread will most probably have no clue as to the happenings of a marriage.

I suggest you talk to your mates about your situation, your family too. Do alot of soul searching because this is one of the biggest decisions your going to have to make in your whole life. And you wont want to get it wrong!. Don't rush, take all the time you need to make the right choice.

I've already got advice from the ppl that mean the most to me. But as an ex-patron of the venusian arts I was curious what some of the forum members had to offer. If it wasn't for the visa/logistical problems. I obviously wouldn't be getting married. We'd just date for as long as needed before we were 100%. But this is kind of a special situation...

The responses I've got are mostly positive but a few family members were concerned about the age difference. She is almost 5 years older than me. It doesn't bother me at all though, and she doesn't look it whatsoever.

i would say it's too soon..

You can still take a year where you visit her from time to time, and she visits you..

:).. it will be worth it..

I have the same great connection with my long distance girl.. although it's has just started.. we never get tired from talking everyday... almost everyday.. in like 10 months we have been talking.. but only hooked up for real these months..

going to visit her at new years eve :)...

But i dont think about marriage yet... im still 19 and got university... but i hope it will end in marriage :)

I'm an ex-member of this forum. My old account had over 200 posts but i stopped visiting here around 1.5 years ago. I only posted it here because i'm one of those guys that likes to have their ideas challenged. Because face it, none of us are all knowing and I believe there is something to learn from every experience.

My situation's a bit different though. I've reached full financial independence. And also, since I'm Greek American (lived most my life in the states) it's really difficult for me to find local chicks here who i can really relate to like i can to my girl. I don't know guys. I just feel like this is the one! I think the best risk a man can take should be in the name of love. But that's just like, my opinion.
