| Post subject: | When/how should I explain my separation/divorce to girls? |
I recently separated with my wife of about four years (we’ve been together for eight years total). Long story short, I got really busy with graduate school and stopped spending as much time with her, working at the relationship, etc. So she had an affair. For a more detailed explanation check out my other thread, “Should I Leave My Wife”. We’ve been separated for a couple months now and it’s definitely over. However, we’re not getting a divorce right away because I’m on her health insurance. Plus we don’t have the time or the money to go through with it right now. I'm wondering when I should tell girls who I’m sarging that I'm married (but separated), and how I should explain my situation to them without making either me or my wife look bad. I want to be as honest as I can but I don't want to go around badmouthing my wife and I'd rather not mention her affair. She knows she messed up, there's no need for me to go tell the world about it. I want to stay on good terms with her and don’t think it's very classy to badmouth her anyway. |
