| Post subject: | How do I get rid of feelings for a girl? |
Hey guys, I'm 18, and in a relationship with a beautiful girl who I love very much. The problem: we were going out for six months, and then it ended quickly and suddenly. After about a month and a half, we got together again because we realised how much we still loved one another. But in that break, I met another really attractive girl and dated her a couple of times. I still talk to her, I see her around school etc, and I still find her really attractive! Note that the love I have for my gf means that this isn't really distracting me from the relationship, but I really get on with this girl and think that we could be amazing friends. But obviously it is weird to be talking to her when all I can think about is how hot she is, which doesn't feel guilty (after all, it's just nature) but really stands in the way of a decent conversation when Im trying my best not to come on to her. Do any of you have suggestions for 'curing' my attraction to this girl, or is it just impractical to try and have her as a great friend? Thanks in advance. |

I think if you can seperate the ideas of being attracted to someone, from actually wanting them as a girlfriend, and deciding which is it you feel about her, the choice should become easier. |

I know that I don't want her as a girlfriend, I just find her very attractive and don't want to feel that attraction any more. I'm wondering if anyone has any way of reversing attraction techniques and applying them to yourself in reverse. |

In my experience - You will have to learn to cope. I have never lost attraction for any of the girls I have known in the past. |
