when women ask about past relationships? is it wrong to show a crazy text message as evidence? . I've not showed any messages but figured it wouldn't be a good idea...

more specifically, I made the mistake of mentioning a ex-girl friend in a joke."yeah I'm trying to be positive about the election outcome, maybe trump will deport my Brazilian ex to mexico, but not with the nice mexicans"
The Colombian woman I'm dating raised a couple of questions about it. The topic is no longer being discussed but I thought it might be best to make some clarification

I thought about sending her this via email since she is traveling for work
When we met, you asked about a relationship I had that didn't end well. I kind of regret making that joke. In general, I really don't talk about ex's; I also don't like focusing on negative topics or talking negative about people. Some of my relationships have ended well, some have not. when it comes to people who are toxic to me, I try to stay far away from them....

Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.

Stop overthinking this shit and move on. An apology email? For serious?

Best advice I got from a close friend recently "Don't over compensate!".

If you aboit to do anything ask yourself "Am I over compensating?" If the answer is yes or maybe then stop, and do not do what you about to do.

NO. Do not send that.

This is the kind of shit that makes girls run away from you. Men tend to get hung up on one thing and obsess over it, and women are over it in one night. This is known as a "Debbie Downer" text.

she's over it, and does not care. It's early. Use texting for fun. Continuing to harp about such a small thing reveals you are not centered.

Why do you feel a need to show a "crazy text" to a potential romantic interest?

I figured the text was a bad idea.... I was more or less wondering if others online thought this idea was equally as bad... all the comments seem unanimous lol... I also thought showing her a crazy message from my ex says to her I might not be over my ex or that this is how I might act if we get in a relationship and it doesn't end well. I'm glad I didn't send it

A friend mine who works in PR said once that if you seem overly concerned or defensive about a "non-issue" it makes ppl think their is a issue or that your hiding something . So I wonder if by sending her that note for clarification purposes, that I regret making the joke, I'm making this into a big deal?

I've had three dates with this woman but we've been talking awhile... She wants me to call her while she's traveling and have dinner with her when she returns

ANd yes I do have baggage ....

I'm less concerned about the stupid ex-Gf joke and more concerned about telling her about some really messed up things that have happened to me in my life... She has asked me about some really personal matters... And while I've very successful in the past and done some really things, I also have some really sad things with my family

Three dates and you want to tell her your life story?

If a woman did this to me, I'd run away.

i don't want to tell her my life story; that's crazy

women always say they are a "open book" and then think that allows them justification to ask any question they want...when she said this to me, I responded that I tink people should get to know each other a page at a time... you don't get to know someone, or the context all at once... I also told her that I didn't want to know everything about her right now

Jesus christ.

You're trapped in "logic mind" right now. It's how men work. Women are mostly of the moment. All this debbie downer shit you're caught up in will chase her away. Focus on catching a buzz or dancing or fucking and having fun. It's three dates man, and you're acting like a scientist on the cusp of curing cancer.

I'm trying to keep things fun... she's the one trying to interrogate me

"whatever happened to small conversation and getting to know someone slowly(so many personal questions)"

Look man...fuck what she is looking for. You don't let the chick drive because she'll fuck it up. She'll make the pace slow and ask these questions, put you in a submissive role and then tell you sorry there was no spark. So take over and drive

Seriously bro?

How long ago is this? And what makes you think she's still thinking about it ? And why in the world are you still thinking about this? Have you two even slept together?

Also, always keep it brief about past relationships. Anything negative said about an ex(or anyone) for that matter will reflect on you. The more negativity you see, the more negativity others will see in you. These are women that you choose to be with. That reflects on you, especially as a leader, whether you like it or not.
