Ok so me and my ex broke up 3 weeks ago (she broke up with me). The reasons were she just needed time to herself and her "space" which is bs but besides the point. I went no contact for 3 weeks until I messaged her a couple days ago, here's the exact conversation with each text being anywhere from a half hour to an hour and a half in between ...

Me: Hey, how have you been lately?

Her: I've been fine how have you been?

Me: Pretty good. I have terrible news though... I lost your dads special lighter oops haha

Her: It's ok he'll be fine without it haha

Me: Thank goodness... Lol. We should catch up soon maybe grab a quick lunch! Thoughts?

Her: That sounds good :)

Me: Cool I'll text ya(:

Her: (my name)? What day were you thinking because I work now so I'm out of the house until like 8 or 9. 5 days out of the week and I start at 2 :)

Me: I'm out your way tomorrow for class so we could then? I'll be out right around 930

Her: Okay sounds good :)


Now keep in mind I only contacted her after these three weeks because I felt ready enough to where if she turned me down I wouldn't really be upset, but if It can be salvaged, I'd like to be with this girl again because I really care about her as a person. Also she is an HB8.5

So the next day she texts me around 215pm with this...

Her: I'm probably going to call off the hangout sorry but I just got to work and I'll be here till like 10

Me: Cool, no worries. We'll catch eachother soon


So I guess I'm just asking did I play this correctly? Why do you guys think she flaked? She seemed down for it.

I want to get at least one meetup to see how things are going with her and to get a sense of if we have a chance at being together again.

If I did anything wrong in the above text please let me know. Also what should I do now? This is day number 2 of no contact again so should I try to get the hangout next week? Two weeks from now? Should I wait and see if she will contact me?

Any help is appreciated thanks guys.

There is something missing here. Backstory or something.

Anyways, any girl if she WANTS to meet you she would move mountains out of her way for you. Her interest level for you is low, and you should move on. Don't try to salvage relationships, go meet other girls and always more than a few plates to spin. Not one.

Her interest level may not be too low though as she literally just texted me "hey". I'm gonna text her back in a little bit with "hey what's up?".

If she asks me to hangout should I say I can't and suggest tomorrow or suggest a different day in general? I don't want it to seem like I'm jumping into her arms on a Saturday night when I should be out doing my own thing which is actually the plan tonight but it's looking like they could fall through...

What would the experts here do?

Minimal effort on her part. This won't work 100% guaranteed. You want her more she's just meh lukewarm and you're hot trying to swoon her. Waste of time.

You try to squeeze in some shit about her dad's ligher = trying too hard

You ask her out to "catch up"

Now, just from that alone, she KNOWS you want back. Its been 3 weeks AFTER SHE DUMPED YOU, and you want to "catch up." Dude, she knows you're trying to swoon her. Lol, you act like you're being smooth with it, but its not smooth. Have some dignity and move on from this chick. If it didnt work the first time, showing her that you havent moved on isnt going to help. What do you want? Chick breaks up with you for "space" and you cant even make 3 weeks without her? Unless the chick is slow, she's thinking "damn...he cant even go 3 weeks without trying to talk to me?!"

Ok well if anyone wants to not be a douchebag, I'm hanging out with her tonight and that'd be nice if I could get some concrete advise on how to play it? She's been texting me the last few days and we decided to meetup tonight. Obviously I'm not going to poor my heart out but I don't wanna cross into the friend zone either. She sent me breadcrumbs last night saying she "misses me" and that it "might be inappropriate to say that." I replied but didn't say it back.

From what I understand I should not bring up anything about our previous relationship. So should it be just light fun banter and talking about what we've been up to lately? Like I've said before if it eventually doesn't end up working out then fine but I need to know that I tried.

You guys probably think there is no point in trying and that I shouldn't give a fuck but this girl has really been through ALOT and I care for her deeply. I never gave any backstory on her or us but she's a rape victim of 3-4 years ago and her family life isn't ideal. Also the timing of our relationship was really bad because she had just gotten out of a relationship a week before we started "talking." I know she loves me (or at least did) but the timing and circumstances of our lives at the point of the breakup was not too good. I am confident there is still a chance for us.

BOTTOM LINE: What can I do to leave tonight making her want more?!?!
