Post subject:  Girlfriend feels "sorry" for ex...

Hey guys,

So my girl has always felt sorry for her ex. She's still friends with him and whenever she talks about him she often begins with "shame he's just...". So tonight I asked her why she always feels sorry for him... she said because his life's a wreck and he fucked up his chances with her and fucked up everything else.
(Just a bit of a background quick... this ex cheated on her)

I'm a guy who sees when a person's circumstance is caused by his own doing. And I have no pity for those people. Now funnily enough.. my girl is intelligent and sees this as well. But doesn't see it with him.
I can't understand how she can pity this guy... it actually make me extremely uncomfortable that she does pity him... it does show that there is still feelings there right?
But it's also like this guy wants her to feel sorry for him...
What the fuck is going on here? Should I be worried? Or is this normal? I don't know what to think...

I bet you that this guy was a fuck up before she met him and she thought she was the one that could fix him. If it wasn't for the cheating, which she probably got over by now, she would still be working on this project.

She's probably not thinking about getting back with him, but if this guy plays it right...he can get her back because it sounds like there are some feelings still there(which I have no doubt that he's trying to do). Keep your eyes open.

Damn OP...you muddied your original story. This is the guy you were calling her BFF. You're just being a chump that doesn't think he can do better. You guys try to walk a the path of low self esteem so they can avoid appearing insecure.

Girls don't want to be with guys they feel sympathetic towards.

Thanks to detective Neo I don't have to waste my time with a though out reply.

You guys are stupid. You get free and pristine advice, and when it's not what you wanna hear you change up your story to get different advice.

For fucks sake you're only cheating yourselves.

I see now this is very similar to my last issue. I apologize for bringing it up again... I've just been going through a really personal rough time recently and haven't been thinking straight, which I suppose has been a major factor in causing me to think these events have nothing to do with each other... where they are in fact very similar.

Honest mistake... I certainly didn't bring this up again in a different way to get "different advice" because the first advice wasn't what I wanted to hear...
I appreciated all the advice I got for my last post and did use some of it, which helped me a lot... thanks again guys.

Anyways; JackZero, I think you are right.. I fear I do have low self-esteem issues and am insecure. Perhaps I can change this muck up of an original post to advice on low self-esteem?
