Was seeing a girl for a couple of months, but she broke up due to distance. Couldn't move and then decided she didn't want me to move to her. She was divorced with another guy who moved over to be with her and said its like a 'De Ja Vu'. I actually was in her town recently and messaged for a coffee. She declined saying 'she wishes it was easy but its too hard'. Said it was good I got in touch and continued to chat in a happy/flirty way that suggests she misses me. Always a chance of a future reconciliation which part of me really wants, but I'm moving on dating etc. and not thinking about it much. It's her birthday next week. She did send me a big message on mine after we broke up so now I'm thinking to either send a short message to keep the door open or just ignore her. Happy in principle to ignore, but part of me thinks it will be the nail in the coffin and I'd never hear from her again (I don't hear from her now to be fair) Ignore or send little message on day? |

You're not "ignoring her" You're simply just moving on... Move on. She'll be just fine without your birthday wish. You're currently thinking like a nice guy. " I should just say happy birthday because she said it on mine". How cute? You don't owe her a thing. Things didn't work out, you charge this situation to the game and move forward. You're much more likely to hear from her again if you forget her than you are if you keep chasing with unnecessary text messages. |

Ignore. Move on. Find other cute girls willing to respond to your needs. |

You're complicating something which means you care too much. Backstory aside, you're considering sending a text message for an outcome. If it were me, and the chick was cool at the end of the day, and it popped in my head that today or next week was her bday, and I felt like sending a happy bday, i'd just send it. I'd take 5 seconds send the text and be done with it. Same way I'd text a guy friend or a female friend. Because I FELT LIKE IT. Not to get her. Not to make her miss me. Not thinking about whether xyz would happen if I did or didnt. I wont think so hard on something simple. It pops in my head, I'd do it and be gone. I wont expect a reply or care either way. Whether you do it or not is not the issue. The issue is it requires thought and a thread either way. You havent moved on then. Moving on does not just simply mean you're ignoring the person. It means whatever you do, you dont care. |
