How do you go 4 years without knowing roughly how much each other makes? you observant pair

So I've just said "why you wanna know?" and smile or something like that. But I'd rather not let her know. We've dated for 3-4 years though. Not yet moved in. Can I stay private without looking like I'm ashamed of how much I make or something? |

Just say "I do all right" if you don't want to say. Don't make it a big deal and it won't be. |

4 years of being together and she has no "idea" how much you make? I'm pretty sure she can make a good guess. And what are you ashamed of ? I doubt you're going to tell her something thats going to surprise her. She sees your life style. |

Well she knows ROUGHLY how much I make (like minimum of 30, max of 50k/yr), but we both live at home still and I am currently in (and have been in) SAVING mode for getting a place. So...she really would have no idea...I have my own vehicle, she knows I have $$$ saved....but how would she know? We go out to eat a lot but that's about it. |
