| Post subject: | Girl Broke Up with Me |
So I had been seeing this girl for 3 months, hanging out 4 to 5 times a week. It seemed to be going great until I told her I was busy for the week of my birthday. Didn't tell her it was my birthday and called her the night of and she didn't answer then or the whole weekend. (Birthday was on Friday.) I texted her Monday and tried to call but she didn't answer so I said "this isn't working for my any longer." She agreed then I talked to her again today and she gave me all the bs excuses (just got out of a relationship, have a lot going on.) I'm wondering what's going on and where I made mistakes. I think she could be mad at me for not seeing her for the week then not telling her about my birthday until the last minute. I don't think I can recover but want sort of a damage assessment and thoughts. |

Likely not telling her about your birthday felt like a dick move, it was a clear sign you had no investment potential = NEXT. |

Well if there ever was an efficient way to tell a chick she's nothing other than a hole with a pulse, hiding the fact that you birthday is tomorrow for 3 months while have no intention of involving her in any kind of activities is a great way to do it. |

Kind of standard to tell a girl your birthday is coming in advanced. Also, why did you tell her that it wasn't working if you really didn't mean it? You gave her the out she needed. |

I told her that because I was scared she was going to do it to me. I sent her this message to apologize for the birthday thing. "Hey, I just wanted to apologize for not telling you about my birthday. I hate my birthday and something always seems to go wrong, something really traumatic happened on my 23rd birthday and it brings up a whole lot of negative emotions. I don't know if that's what you're upset about or even if you are upset, but wanted to let you know because I care a great deal about you. I had so much fun with you and you deserve better." |

Now you are making nonsensical excuses and sending them to her. You hate your birthday, somehow something always goes wrong but you still went out. Do you think that's really going to justify your actions?You're telling her that you care for her but at the same time not good enough for her. That sounds really weak. You're giving her more reasons to not want to be with you. You need to just be quiet and give her a chance to get over you being a dick. However, I think you keep digging the hole deeper and being quiet won't even help you now. |

I didn't go out. I sat at home with my brother watching the Celtics game and then spent the rest of my night drinking alone. I hate my birthday. |

I told her I went out with friends, too because I didn't want to sound like a loser. You live and you learn, this one is probably done. |
