Post subject:  How to deal with jealousy tests from slightly loco HB9?

I met this girl 2 months ago, and things have happened fast- as in I've developed strong feelings.

She is in school getting her masters in psychology at an institution that we'll call, er, "non-traditional" (think very spiritual, new age). Most indicators seem good. We do have pretty open and honest communication, the sex is frequent and mostly great, and we have fun together. She calls me pretty much every day.

I've made mistakes around being super honest with my feelings when she asks. Saying "I feel jealous when you do x," for example. Normally, I wouldn't do this, but being a psychologist-in-training, she made me feel comfortable telling all, and even said she liked it (d'oh!). Now, I'm realizing I have to reign it in, but she is very perceptive, and I'm easy to read.

Ok, so now she knows that I get jealous easily. Yesterday we were working next to each other at a cafe. She turns to me and asks me if she can read me something. Her term paper is answering a question on how a course affected her, and reads me a passage where she reveals her crush on the professor of the course in pretty strong detail. He's going to be reading and grading it. I know it's a new-age school, and they really value honesty around feelings, but that seems too far.

So I played it cool. I know there was a tell on my face, but I just tried not to react. I expressed shock that she was sending it to him, but that was it. We went hiking and had sex later, but I can't shake this shitty feeling like something is wrong today. When she called earlier I couldn't get out of my head and connect with her.

Is this a test? How can I better deal with these situations in the future? I know girls of this caliber will have some guys waiting in the wings, and I need to be ok with that, but I'm having trouble dealing with my jealousy. I'm concerned that these sorts of feelings will inhibit and ultimately hurt/destroy the relationship.

Of course it's a test, or she would not have deliberately read it to you.

Instead of getting all butt-hurt jealous, drink a giant cup of "Who fucking cares."

Agree with her, tell her she should pursue her fantasy of lusting for wrinkled balled old guys, and tweed jackets.

Maybe the "Professor" can figure out why she "holds back" in the bed room! (Guarantee for a fuck fest!)

Tease her, make fun of her, blow it off.

Great advice. The more you can bring yourself to a scenerio where you really don't care about her trying to make you jealous, the better.

But when she does, the above replies are great. The first thing I thought of was "That's hilarious. I remember a professor I had one time that was stacked and looked like a play boy bunny. There were days I had to take a minute to get my stuff together to leave the classroom after class just to let my boner chill."
