| Post subject: | Girlfriend works with someone who knows me from school |
Hey My girlfriend has become aware that she works with someone who knew me at school who I barely remember. But this guy has said negative things about me and said because I gave him a wedgie one time which I did, that I bullied him. Which is stupid cos I wasn't like that. This happened to everyone even me it was just part growing up. Any advice on how to handle this with my gf? Thanks |

Why are you worried about it? As you wrote your post, she was still your girlfriend. It's obvious that whatever he has said, she hasn't changed her mind about being with you. |

It's a case of she hasn't got back to me after I confirmed that's what happened...and any negativity, however unjustified, surrounds dating someone who was getting up to this kind of thing at school. I am just wondering do I go down the route of tell him I'm sorry if he feels like that way (which I am loathed to do cos its stupid) or he should man up and shouldn't be bringing such a small thing up with someone's gf years later. Or just try and defuse it in some fashion? |

Not much you can do unless she contacts you. You contacting her is going to be a super weak move. Eventually she will contact you, just be ready for it. |

Just cross your fingers and hope. I have crossed out a man as a potential sexual partner because of bullying history. I've been bullied, I don't think it's "stupid", or "just a part of growing up". If she has been bullied, you are out of the picture. However, if she hasn't, and lacks empathy, she may come around. You do nothing. |
