Hey all, I've been with this girl about 4-5 months now, and this is really our only major hang-up. Maybe it isn't fixable, but thought I'd get some advice from those wiser than I before making any rash decisions. If nothing else, this should prove a good learning experience. A few important things: 1) She has a very needy dog (note to future self: try and avoid dating chicks with dogs) 2) This is her first relationship of any sort of length 3) She's not good at being vulnerable 4) We live about 45 min apart Sex is really good, she texts/calls me all the time, and never flakes when it involves hanging out near her little comfort zone bubble. She keeps saying she's going to work on coming up here more, but the dog is an issue. She always wants to head back to her place at some point (45 min away) and hasn't ever stayed over (wtf right?). She's mentioned getting a kennel for her dog at my place, so she's at least trying, but I'm wondering if I'm just wasting my time and this chick will never be comfortable leaving her little bubble on a regular basis. We've talked about this before (which has led to our only big fights), but this time instead of reacting to it I'm just making myself busier, turning down chances to hang out at her place, etc. Is there anything else you guys would do/try before pulling the plug? Like you said - She is trying - Sex is good -Only big fight in 5 months or so My big question here is, do you spend the night at her place? |

My ex had a dog that simply could not be alone. If she's great otherwise, I say, deal with it! If she's worth it, who cares if she doesn't wanna sleep at your place? That is just smooth for you, no need to tidy your bachelors pad! (Unless she can bring the dog?) |

If its a puppy, she's probably genuine. Otherwise, suggest she just bring the dog with her. Oh, and try dating a girl in public accounting sometime. You'll literally go 2weeks without being able to see them even if you live together. The older you get, the more responsibilities everyone will have. |
