Post subject:  How should I have protected my gf?

A couple weeks ago, I was at work and my girl texted me saying how this douche was making fun of her over a social networking site. I was just stuck and I asked her what she wanted me to do? She said nothing. So the AFC of me came out, and I did nothing. Now I know I screwed up, as her man, she is suppose to feel safe and secure, and now I am thinking of it today. What should I have done? What do I do so she can be reassured nothing like that will happen again?

If some guy is making fun of her online, she simply has to defriend and/or block him. Simple. If he persists after getting blocked, as long as he isn't threatening don't worry. sticks and stones. If he threatens her, then MAYBE you can get involved after she;s taken her own legal steps.

That is true, but wouldn't she want me to at least say something to the douche? I would think that I would have to stand for my girl.

Unless you're dating an immature hood chick, she wouldnt want you to say something. It's social media, she knows she can block someone.

This.

If it gets bad just find him IRL. Don't bark back.

I agree with the others. She likely mentioned it to you because her confidence took a hit. Your job wasn't to threaten to kick someone's ass. It was to remind her that she's your girl, and what some d-bag on facebook thinks about her is irrelevant, you think she's the shit, period, end of discussion.

If it's only been a day or two, I suggest you send a text or something that illustrates that and you might still be able to save some face. Just say, you know, I was thinking about the other day and ..........

Classic guy mistake. A girl presents a problem.. and your first reaction is to try and fix it.
