| Post subject: | Girl I've been dating lied to me? |
I've been dating this girl exclusively for about a 1 1/2 months. 2 weeks ago, she invited me to her friends birthday party at some lounge this past Saturday. We went shopping the same day as the event so I could get a tie that matches with her dress. About 3 hours before the event, she calls saying that her friend cancelled her own bday because of a fight she got in with her husband. She apologizes uncontrollably and says to not hate her. So, I tell her to make her friend go out, even if it is without their significant others to make sure she isn't home alone on her bday. She calls right before they go out complaining about how awful a night it is going to be, and that she doesn't even want to go and blah blah blah. So I go out and party, and she is texting/calling me throughout the night saying she wishes I was there, and showing me pictures of the dress she wore, etc. Eventually, she asks if she can come over after and spend the night, to which I say of course just so long I am home. She comes over, we bang and she still is telling me she wishes I was there tonight. So I ask why she didn't invite me, and she says it wasn't her place to invite me. I say I understand and am completely cool and forget about it. Fast forward to today, and I find out, through our mutual friends' FB profile, that she went to the same event that I was originally invited to. Now, I never asked her what they ended up doing that night or anything and I have not called her out on it because I haven't talked to her since I found out. I know for a fact that her friend and her husband did get in a big fight but, that is the only part of her story that I know for a fact is true. This is a group of her girl friends that I have never met, so I'm offended that I was "uninvited" if it was by her. Therefore my question is, what do I do? She has no previous history of lying to me(that I know of). I was thinking of saying something like, "hey, how was that lounge Saturday? I've always wanted to check it out, is it worth it?" I'm basically conflicted between freezing her out for a couple days, and confronting her. Any help is greatly appreciated! edit: she literally just texted me, "how much do you miss me on a scale from 1-10?" |

Tough me personally I wouldn't confront her but you need to know that this is a big red flag. There's definitely something more to that story, either she wasn't confident in presenting you or maybe there were other guys there that she talks to. If you confront her you'll look weak as she'll think you looked it up. Its all up to you though, either way I'd keep my eyes open for more red flags.

This text message exchange occurred: Me: "BTW, did you guys get to eat at (lounge name) Saturday night? The chilean seabass they had on the menu looked heavenly!" Her: "No, we did not get to eat lol." I changed the subject and moved on from it. Think I'm just going to take it as a red flag and move on with it. |

Exactly still be on the lookout for other red flags (hiding her phone, talking to one certain guy on social media sites, etc.)

I think it would be better if you tell her to be honest with you and you will also be honest with her, so you won't end up doubting each other. |
