So me and my girlfriend have been dating for a little over a year. We have our ups and downs but we love each other. We see each other everyday and spend hours together and we don't get tired of it. My girlfriends last relationship was LDR and it ended with no ones fault and she was pretty hurt. So she has a bad taste of LDR ... But I just found out I'm going to be going to a collage that'll be 2 hours. She has given up on us working out, vex aide she says she knows what long distance relationship is and she is not up for it. She is already starting to drift away from me because she says she is not going to know what to do once I leave becaus we literarly spend every hour together. How do I convince her ill make it work, cause I will do anything possible to see her every week for a couple days, I just want her to have faith in us.. |

Nothing. It sounds like you have already expressed, everything that you can say. You have to do what is right for YOU, and you have to be a Man about it. It is the best shot you have. Pining, whining, begging, and pleading you devotion won't do anything, other than making her feel bad in the moment. She will follow her convictions, you need to do the same thing. Support and respect her decision. She will appreciate that more. Then maybe she will miss you, or the fear of missing you will possibly bring you closer together. |

Literally had almost the same thing happen a week ago. GF of 3 months told me she's moving... wait for it.... 120 miles away!!! Said she doesn't think it will work because she did long distance before and got hurt, yaddah yaddah. What did I say? "well, its your choice. It was nice meeting you. Have a good life. Good bye". - Talk to her and let her understand why you need to go to college. Tell her that everything you do is for your future together. If she really loves you, she will understand and support you. If you convince her, then show her that you are not like her past LTRs. |
