So I've been talking with this girl for about 2 weeks now, been out four times, she's cooked me dinner and we've had sex. For some reason though her texting habits recently have me confused. We haven't seen each other over the past 4 days but have still been texting/talking on the phone.

Here's where I'm drawing a blank. She almost always initiates the texting. But when I text her back she seems to be aloof and distant.

Example from this morning:

Her: Concert was amazingggg

Me: We both were at awesome concerts last night then

Her: (an hour later) I was in the shower sorry, but I'm going to hang out with my mom. What are you doing

Me: Going to eat with the parents before they leave, what mischief are you ladies getting into

Her: Shopping

Me: So you're milking her for free stuff right

Her: No showing her what I want for my birthday

Me: Haha, I think we both said the same thing

Her: No it's my birthday so it's different

Me: You know how to work the system

(end of conversation)

I'm probably overthinking the whole thing but she just seems less playful and flirtatious than she was. What do you guys think? We are supposed to go to a basketball game on Tuesday but I'd like to see her before then. Just give me some opinions of the scenario.

I appreciate any and all help.

Uh well you've only been seeing her for two weeks so wtf. Panic much? If she's being cold/distant, then your best bet is to return the coldness and distance and possibly even freeze her out. Don't bother trying to see her before your next date... Just step aside and go radio silence until the day of the date, or the day before the date.

You can text her too much but you can't text her too little.

I only have two rules. Never send two messages without a response from her in between, and always be aware of her energy so you can match it.

When she said, "Shopping", you should've just left it alone. She didn't say, "Shopping!!", or "Shopping :)". A one word answer like that with no inflection means she's probably busy and catching up with her mom and you're sending texts for the sake of sending texts. Your friends ever send you a "Haha" text and you knew the conversation was over? Same thing. Plus, you don't really care what her and her mom are picking out, do you?

Text her when she texts you, use it to meet up as quickly as you can and wrinkle the outfit her mom just bought her.
