| Post subject: | Long-distance dilemma |
I've used this site a lot, but here's my first post. It's getting towards the end of college, and I've been seeing this girl for about 6 weeks. She's staying for another year and I'm off to start work in another city. We never really talked about what we both knew was coming. Anyways, the other day I got a message asking what me we're doing? I didn't know how to answer this, but luckily she's away for a few days so I have some time. I like this girl a lot, but the long distance things seems like it'd be impossible. I know there's really no way to keep this going, but still don't want to say anything that completely ruins everything for the future (ill be visiting the city she's in multiple times a year). Any advice or am I just being a baby and should end it. |

No need to end it, just keep her around while you pick up other chicks in your new city. Youve only been seeing each other for six weeks, not like its a serious LTR. |

Thanks, So to keep her around, say what? We should try and make this work, etc. I sort of need a concrete answer and its not easy since there are no plans to be in the same place for the foreseeable future |

Two questions. How far apart? Is she open to a LDR? |

1. About an hour and a half flight. 2. I'm not sure, but judging by her questions, and the way she's been acting I'd say she isn't opposed to it. |

Of course she isn't opposed. Girls (almost) never leave a guy to be alone. Your relationship will depend on this:1) How often will you see each other? Once a month? (be realistic) 2) For how much time will you be in different cities? |

Once a month would be optimistic. And the time frame is unknown right now. Honestly, I've been thinking about it and its unlikely to work, which sucks. Ideally what'd I'd like is to be able to keep it open when we're in the same city, I'll be visiting where she goes to school multiple times a year, and were both from the same hometown. |

You don't have to break up. If she's into you, give her hope, and that doesn't mean saying "Yes, let's definitely enter an exclusive LDR." |

Hmm didn't think about it that way. I'll try to take it down this road. I'll let you know how it goes.

If the time frame is unknown, you can keep this relationship and travel to see her and have fun together from time to time. Because she's in another city, it's very difficult for her to find out if you're dating other girls. But LDR are doomed to fail in the long run. It wouldn't be a bad idea at all to turn her into your fb. Let us know how it goes.
