Hey all, Been together for just over 3 years. Both my SPAM like one of my girl friends (Call her AMY) and they haven't met her before. I have therefore invited AMY and her other girl SPAM down for dinner one night next week. Both these girls are a good friends of mine and has been for a number of years. My actual girlfriend has always disliked AMY because she is a big tease and flirts with lots of guys. So I drop my gf a text giving her a heads up that I'm going to invite AMY and other girl down for dinner next week. She throws a strop and says: 'If you do this then there is going to be really serious consequences..' How should I handle this. I obviously have the right to see my friend and I usually have control of most situations. It's not so much I'm desperate to see this friend although it would be good to catch up. It's the principle that she is not letting me see a friend when I want to. Thanks |

Your GF is shit-testing you... Do you really wanna go down this road, where you are "not allowed" to meet with friends or there will be "consequences"? WTF?!?! Be a man and stand up for what you want to do!!! |

I agree. But my gf actively dislikes this girl and can see this becoming more than a shit test. What to do if she sticks to her word and continues to be angry?

First of all , you need to explain to her that you have your own people you dislike that she actively sees(and I'm pretty sure you do,everyone does) but you do not try to impose on her and take her liberties with pathetic threats. Obviously,she should do the same because that's how a normal and healthy relationship should be. Make her understand that the only generator of any real consequences is the immaturity with which she treats you. Once your relationship starts feeling like a cage you're already on your way to failure. Just don't be arrogant / condescending and don't act superior.Only strong people can take strong criticism. You gotta level with her if you don't want it to turn into a fight. |

Invite your gf too. You're wrong if you don't. I'd be mad if my gf told me she was invited 2 guy friends over for dinner with her and her friends. It's not a shit test and trying to pass it as such will only leave you with a gf who has negative feelings towards you and doesn't trust you. |

Then you have a choice. Break up or do what she says. This is already sounding like a relationship that wouldnt work and I just realized you've been together for 3 years so she should be more mature. How old are you guys? |
