So this time of year has come around again, I have been with my GF for over a year now and have no idea If I should spoil her and become an AFC for a day or just get her a little something and leave it at that? What are you guys going to do? I know what I'd like to do, I like the whole Idea of making your GF feel special this time of year but... I don't know if I should be a AFC or not What are you guys doing? |

Lol, some of you guys are hilarious. You're worried that you might be doing an AFC move, if you did something special for someone you most probably love, and have been in a relationship with for over a year? Really? A lot of the rules that apply in pick up don't have any relevance in a LTR. |

I want to best chip in my two cents for this question the best I can because I currently have a girlfriend that I had for 2 months. I find that giving any girl a title Girlfriend commands a bit more respect then your average fuck buddy. But consider all the feelings you have.. When i am in a relationship I am about the feelings as much as she is. It is a good part of what we are so I consider them often. Personally I want to go all out for my GF of 2 months HB8.. I will prob spend about 100 bucks on her just to let her know she is special to me... After all she is.. I gave her the title Girlfriend! AFC or not this should not be a concern with a Girlfriend. If you think like this, checky check check your EGO son!! Thats my two cents, plus a nickle.. |

If you two are in a serious relationship, then absolutely do something that will make her feel special, but don't go overboard. The amount of money, time, and effort you put into this should be directly proportional to how long you been with her. So if you've been with her for a year, $100 would be acceptable. Been with her for 4 months, dinner at a decent restaurant and a movie. Been with her less than 2 months, burn her a CD. Don't be one of those chumps who puts out a lot of money when the relationship is still new. She will be expecting the same SPAM next year, most likely even more. |

I agree completely. I've made the same mistake time and time again - I always end up going way over the top for Valentine's Day. $80 for the best restaurant in town (wine is expensive), $100-120 for decent presents, and then some emotional shit like a poem (yes I wrote a poem once, fuck off my back about it) or flowers which can vary from free to $50+. While you're guaranteed to get some brownie points for outdoing all of her friends' boyfriends, you'll have to try even harder next time to impress her and outdo yourself or you're fucked. It's a slippery slope.Don't be one of those chumps who puts out a lot of money when the relationship is still new. She will be expecting the same SPAM next year, most likely even more. Make the day special, take her to a park and out to a nice restaurant or something to that extent, and maybe throw in a light present. Just make sure you don't go overboard. And seriously, stop trying to game your girlfriend if you've been with her for an entire year already. You're allowed to be gay at this point. |
