so this is a new one for me as im a pretty intelligent guy. ive started dating a girl who is a total catch. she's not perfect, but she knocks it out of the park on all the major stuff: beautiful, intelligent, great in bed, super nice to me, successful and ambitious. problem is on the intelligence point I actually feel like she's smarter than me! I've never been with a girl I thought that about and to be honest, it worries me a bit since sometimes it can be hard to keep up with her in conversation and I feel like I have nothing to say / contribute. I'm trying to fix this now while I still have time since I can foresee this being a problem later. so, has anyone been in my shoes before and how did you handle it? |

great in bed? so you two are having sex? girls love talking and they love to be listened to, so no problem if you don't have anything to say. This post actually doesn't make much sense to me. So you're worried that she has more IQ points? You're worried that she is wittier than you? Honestly...who gives a shit? Is there a deeper problem that you're not telling us? The vibe I get from this post is that you're girl happy and you just wanted to talk about it so you posted a question here. That said, I'm truly happy that you found someone who makes you happy and who you are apparently having sex with. |

there is a difference between intelligence and education. is she highly intelligent? highly educated? or both? there IS a difference. i've met some very "educated" women who could talk and talk and talk about their chosen subject/speciality/passions, but who were still dumber than a box of rocks with no common sense. intelligence can't be taught. it just is. matter of fact, i dated one like that. she had beyond master's degree and fancied herself some sort of superhuman intellectual. she took a position on everything from global warming to the french revolution. and every position she had, every point she made, was completely out of place and ridiculous. also, a good sign of intelligence...is NOT speaking over the head of those around you with consistency. so, if she is regulary talking her version of jargon on things that only she would rightfully know about, that actually doesn't show intelligence, it instead shows a lack of social intelligence. some of the smartest people and some of the wisest thoughts are expressed in three or four word sentences using plain words. sorry, sore subject for me. and yes, i'm a smart fucking guy. just not overly-educated. |

The only way this could be a problem is if you make it into one. She seems to be having a wonderful time with you. If you start feeling less worthy, than it's a problem, but it's your problem. I had a similar issue with my ex, we used to train karate together, it would get really weird if we ended up fighting each other in a competition and I lost the fight. But love is not a competition, who gives a fuck. |

Great points. I'd like to further aid your argument with a great quote:sorry, sore subject for me. and yes, i'm a smart fucking guy. just not overly-educated. "The more knowledgeable and intelligent you become, so your desire to speak decreases." |

try picking up something called a book. i hear they help you become more intelligent. otherwise ignore it, try not to be so self-conscious. |

You are already inside of the problem. You're talking like you can keep up and stuff like she will not notice etc. so you can start to get on your mission and get on her level. Not saying it's not possible or anything but simply that there's already a problem for you. |
