I've been dating this woman for 3 months, and she's cold as ice when we're together. She likes her space, we don't hold hands, she's not affectionate, we see each other a couple of times a week, and sex just once a week most of the times (sex is great, though). She responds to Alpha behavior, but not as much as I'd like. You see, this woman is an athlete, and she suffers from what they call the Female Triad. What happens is that women who are elite athletes don't get their period, so they don't produce female hormones. Do you think this is affecting my relationship? Sometimes I think I'm dealing with another me. I can give her an ultimatum and tell her she needs to start taking the pill. That would fix her fucked up reproductive/ovulating issues. |

Urge her to see a doctor asap. Not only is she setting herself up for osteoporosis later in life, she can become really sick due to malnutrition. Female Triad is basically an eating disorder combined with working out way too much. Her glands aren't producing enough hormones to regulate estrogen production which is why she isnt menstruating regularly. Putting her on the pill only solves that one issue. Also, dont't assume she isn't ovulating just because she doesnt have a period! There can be a viable egg floating around in there anyways, so be extra careful. Good job noting her ice cold extremities, you could also look for stuff like hair loss and short, brittle nails. These are all clues that she isnt getting enough to eat. Food=energy etc. Good luck! |

How do you know so much about this? Google? She has seen doctors, but none of them know shit about the Triad. I took her to the gynecologist a week ago and she suggested the pill. She was pretty clueless. My woman started working with a nutritionist recently. Lets see how that goes. Quote: Also, dont't assume she isn't ovulating just because she doesnt have a period! Doctor told us the same thing. Again, how do you know so much about this? When we first started going out she got her period. It was the first time in years. Next month came and nothing. Month after that? Nothing. She doesn't have an eating disorder. She eats a lot, but definitely does A LOT of exercise. And she gets little sleep. Dude! Her hair is all over my room after she's been there. ALso, she has short brittle nails! wtf? How do you know this?

I had Female Triad as a kid. It's more common that you'd think. Quote: She doesn't have an eating disorder. She eats a lot, but definitely does A LOT of exercise.
Trust me when I tell you it is an eating disorder. She might eat lots in front of you/friends/family, but if shes working it right back off shes not getting nutritional or caloric value. Quote: My woman started working with a nutritionist recently.
Definitely a step in the right direction |
