Post subject:  Functions of the Subconcious Mind (Important!!)
The subconscious mind will do whatever we ask it to do. It is an amazing servant to us. There are no limits to what our subconscious mind will do for us—only the limits we place upon it (and ourselves) through the beliefs we have created during our lives. If we have a belief that it's not likely that we'll ever be rich, our subconscious will do everything in its power to see that our belief comes true for us. The subconscious mind does not discriminate when it comes to thoughts and feelings; it responds to fearful thoughts as well as loving thoughts. The subconscious responds to every desire and imaginative thought we choose to entertain. So, practicing awareness of our thoughts (since the subconscious hears all and responds accordingly) is certainly a skill worth having and honing. For our subconscious is the good servant who does as the master asks.
The realm of the subconscious is where our heart lies. The spectrum of emotions from love to fear are recorded and stored within the subconscious realm. Our subconscious memorizes all our feelings about every event we experience and encodes these memories in the cellular structure of our bodies. The Creative Level of Mind within the subconscious is the creative, imaginative part of our mind. And the power of the imagination is limitless. Anything we can conceive or imagine can come into being. The subconscious is also the gateway to higher wisdom. And all wisdom is available to us. It is available because our subconscious is always in communion with the Creative Level of Mind which springs forth from the Source (God, Allah, Hashem, or whatever name you prefer) of all Creation. Our subconscious mind records all events that occur within the field of our awareness; all thoughts and feelings about those events; all memories; and records meanings our conscious mind assigns to those events. All our thoughts and feelings are creative. And when we become still and access our subconscious mind, we can inform our subconscious (through our thoughts and feelings and imaginings) of our desires. And in turn, our subconscious informs the Creative Level of Mind of our desires. Our amazing subconscious is also an incredible editor who happens to be available 24/7/365. We are a matrix of energy. We are a field of energy that reflects our state of consciousness in every moment in time (individually and collectively). The subconscious (through the Creative Level of Mind) directs our energy, generating and emitting energy relentlessly. If we want to become more effective, conscious creators, it's important we understand the relationship between the three minds--conscious, subconscious, and Creative Level of Mind. :) Gratci

isn't all this NLP stuff psychosomatic? For better or for worse i'm a natural skeptic(maybe for worse when it questioning things that may enhance my wellbeing). Are you saying that if i were to write out/memorize/ and be careful to incorporate embedded commands, i can't HELP but feel the effects from the affirmation? I'm sure i can focus on repeating these commands w/o questioning at the time being....but AFTER i finish...i can't help but question "any state/if there was a state change".

So question again....doesn't NLP only work if you believe that it will work or will you actually be able to differentiate how you felt BEFORE and AFTER the affirmation/visualization?

I understand your question your a bit skeptical yes. Well Nlp can work without you actually having to believe it why? because your subconcious mind will read it and produce it PERIOD and you will start acting out what you say. Now the reason why I said you have to believe it is because Believing in what you say will Actually Give you faster results PERIOD as well as visualization it will also aid in your results you dont have to do it and you will still see results just in a while.

This stuff usually seems a little mumbo jumbo to people who don't understand (yet) how it all works. For now, try to accept that it might work:)

Your subconsious mind tries his best to execute EVERY idea that reaches it. Your consious mind works as a guard, it logically accepts 'good' ideas and rejects idea that might do harm etc. So if you can get certain ideas past the guard, you can be however you want to be. This is how hypnosis works, it usually distracts or relaxes the consious mind so you can talk directly to the subconsious mind which will execute every idea that reaches it.

you're right,

hypnosis is all about changing people (and "The Self" ofcourse)
