Post subject:  Using NLP to Cure OCD

Alright guys, I have had OCD since I was about 6 or 7 and now I'm 17. Quite frankly, I am fucken sick of it and I am aware that it won't be instantly fully cured, but I would be very content if I could at least make progress and eventually keep it in check. I have tried using submodalities in the past, but they really only temporarily killed my OCD for about an hour or so. My OCD is really annoying, because it induces stress and it interferes with my schoolwork. Suggestions/advice for controlling my OCD would be greatly appreciated.

If you're interested in using NLP for something like this, I would suggest a professional, or at least someone who's had a good amount of practice with NLP.

If your looking for NLP to help you a local professional is definetly the way to go but will most likely cost you.

An alternative to that which I found very recently is called EFT. It is basically a series of points on the body that you tap in sequence, very similar to acupuncture.

Up until yesterday I had very severe anxiety and panic attacks. I did EFT for 3 days and it worked in what could only be described in a miraculous fashion.

if you google EFT you will find the website where you can download the .pdf for free, just remember to go into it with an open mind and some patience and hopefully you will see the same kind of results that I got.

If you dont Get results google some NLP patterns like the swish pattern and the six step reframe. Also look for youtube videos on the subject.

I know what its like to have a problem such as yours and hope for the best.

Thanks for the kind response, Swashbuckle. When I get a chance, I'm definitely going to look into this EFT thing. It's great that it's immensely helped you in such a brief period of time. Also, I've read about the six step reframe and swish pattern in the past and they seem like they could help me out a bit, but EFT looks like the real deal.

yeah I was actually astonished at how well it worked. Even used it to fix my friends' phobia of spiders and my dad's neck pain. I could see it being useful in the pickup community to nullify any negative emotions towards fear of rejection or basically any negative emotions left by bad breakups or what have you.

And if the EFT doesn't seem to help I imagine the swish pattern could be useful in training yourself to break an OCD habit thoroughly.

disassociation

Most people (according to Bandler ) use disassociation when they stop their phobias.
So perhaps it works for you ?

The next time you feel the redundant behavior creeping over you, take a long look at yourself,

Tell yourself how ridiculous it is, get angry at the pointless redundancy of the whole act,
Allow yourself to get fed up.

Feel how little good it does you to act that way, and just realize that you have the power to say "no", "no more" and "What the fuck am I doing this for, who is it benefiting!?"

And remember that.

Just allow that one last time to really, truly be the straw that broke the camel's back, the drop that made the glass pour over.
Look at yourself and allow yourself to think through the act.
Really think it through.
Allow yourself to realize the aspects of it, how little good it does you, and stop it.

It's your fucking body,
It's your Mind,

IT'S all you.

Disassociate from yourself,
Literally step out of your body and look at what your doing, think it over and dismiss it if it gives you less positive than negative behavior.

Try it.
Let us know when it works.
