For one, NLP has been hugely beneficial to me in life (far more areas than just pick-up), as have many of the other areas of psychology that I became interested in through NLP. There are a whole heap of books that I could recommend but, to be honest man, if you're going through turmoil in your life and thinking about things like getting revenge on your ex maybe you should focus on getting some of your own personal problems sorted first.

Sorry if any of that sounded a bit condescending. Apart from anything else, it's gonna be hard to pull off something like establishing genuine rapport in a pick-up context if you're feeling that hurt and resentful.

if your looking to just get over an ex and techniques for that i would say try either get the life you want by richsrd bandler (the co-creator) of NLP or i can mend your broken heart by paul mckenna...

if you are looking for books to pure get revenge or patterns to mentally disrupt your ex.. no i wont help with that because if your looking to screw up your ex psychologically that is just cruel

I've been wondering about NLP too. I am retraining as a coach and a lot of the community recommends it. I've had NLP sessions in the past to deal with performance anxiety and it really didn't help at all so I am a bit skeptical.

Hard finding a good book on it, most that I've seen are very evangelical. Not many that are unbiased that I've seen.

I've found Anthony Robbins books useful when I was in my early 20's, unemployed and lacking self-confidence. He uses a lot of NLP techniques.

The best way to get revenge on your ex is to have a better life without her than you did with her. Fucking with her for the sake of it just says she has more value than you do.

Well said..that is the best revenge and the least self distructive to say the least. Focusing on revenge is a bad philosophy you should focus on turning yourself into the best you that you can be and a woman who deserves you will come along.

NLP is an amazing tool ...sorry you didnt notice much change but it could have been the person who was guiding you. Unfortunately NLP is very difficult if not impossible to learn from a book. Kinda like learning to ride a bike cant be learned from a book, it is something that must be experienced.

NLP was actually developed as a tool for modeling human behavior and the techniques within it were "discovered" my modeling the 3 most successful psychologist at the time #1 Dr. Milton H Erickson the God father of modern day hypnosis #2 Fritz Pearls the founder of Gestalt therapy and #3 Virginia Satir the developer of Family Therapy. So the techniques of NLP are "borrowed" by modeling what these people did when they were successful in changing people.

The book My Voice Will Go With You, The teaching tales of Milton H Erickson is an awesome read and shows what is possible using hypnosis, more specifically utilization or conversational hypnosis. The founder of NLP Richard Bandler once said "NLP is Ericksonian Hypnosis in a nutshell" to which Dr. Erickson Replied "Thats ok because I still have the Nut" However this book want really teach you what Erickson is doing to create the change.

The skills Erickson uses are broken down in Richard Bandler's and John Grinders' books Patterns of the Hypnotic Techniques of Milton H. Erickson, M.D. Volume 1 and Volume 2 ...both awesome books to learn the art of conversational hypnosis. But like all NLP books they are a bit of a technical read.

If you want to see some crazy stuff that is possible using these techniques check out Derren Brown on youtube He is a master nlp practitioneer and hypnotist that uses his skills on a tv show in the UK to blow peoples minds. He is also a magician so not all of his stuff is pure NLP/Hypnosis but ALOT of it is.

If you are looking for someone to train you and give you free tips and techniques then go to InnateNeurology.com and sign up to the free newsletter. This site is brand new and still under construction but I know the guys who are building it and it will be amazing and you can get in at the very beginning. Here are a few more excellent trainers you can Google. Tad James, Chris Howard, Tony Robbins and Igor Ledochowski...

Cheers
