The best way I've seen to overcome social anxiety came from Ross Jeffries, instead of putting up a shield, or trying not to believe it's there, accept it. Feel it, take a minute when you're in a social situation, and just admit that your anxious, allow yourself to feel anxious, and then focus on feeling your feet on the ground. At home, to practice, close your eyes, bring yourself mentally to a highly anxious moment, really get what that feeling is, and every ten seconds, honestly assess as you let that feeling flow, is it the same, or changing, and every ten seconds, say out load. Same or Changing. You do this for a week, and then go out into the real world, and obviously don't say same or changing in the real world, just let your mind accept it's anxiety, and put your focus on your feet on the ground, the feeling of your toes in your shoes. When you feel grounded, you feel more confident. |

NLP was originally designed to modify behavior and beliefs, not pick up women. Dig hard and invest yourself into NLP, and you will slowly remove your bad habits- that's what NLP is made for. A quick tip to help you with social anxiety... Every time you feel confident, or something good happens to you, or any positive emotion- make a bracelet with your thumb and middle finger around your wrist. Savor the positive feeling for a few seconds, and focus on how confident you feel. Do that every single time you have a strong positive emotion. Then, whenever you are heading into a situation that you'll feel anxiety, put on that "power bracelet" and focus on those positive emotions rising in you. Then go on with the situation. If you build that link strong in your mind, it will always be a fall-back for you. I've done it for 5 years now, and it eliminates my fear of public speaking. Good luck! |
