Hey guys I was researching about frames, investment and everything related. And during the research I stumbled across a really interesting video. It is a documentary about "how the masses are manipulated" and "How the American Consumer Society Was Created". It just seems so crazy that the whole notion of "You buy new things not because you needed them but to express your inner sense of yourself to others" was created by one man, Freud's nephew Edward Bernays...And how we went from a society of "needs" to "desires", again the belief that was integrated into society by the same man in order for businesses to keep producing goods and make money .... And personally after watching the documentary, now I more closely understand the whole issue in Fight Club, people believing that you are you are your job, your possessions, etc ... This is video is the first 10 minute part out of 24, you can easily find the rest on youtube. PS the whole first video, which I posted here is an introduction to Freud and his nephew, but the real meat of manipulation and crowd psychology kicks in the second video and on forward.
