If you're fine with who you are and what you've done - you should have no problem divulging that information at the right time. And anytime anything is getting sexual between a guy and a girl that question is fair game.

Me: Why do you want to know?
Her: Because blah blah blah...
Me: How would you know I wasn't lying?
Her: Blah blah blah...
Me: Would I be any different because of a number?
Her: No
Me: Then I won't tell you.
Her: Tell me...
Me: It's an even number

Point is that you keep the tension going around a sexually related topic. If she's asking then she's thinking about having sex with you. If she's thinking about having sex with you, she'll have sex with you.

One reason a woman might ask that is to gauge how 'slutty' of a guy he is. I've known a number of men that wouldn't get into a relationship if the chick slept with them on the first night.
