| Post subject: | I Need Help/Advice/Tips/Girls - You get my drift |
Well, this is my first post…I’ll try to make it organized. This board doesn’t get many replies, but this is the only place I can post right now, so here it is. I need some help. I’m looking for: Tips Techniques Methods Books to buy Posts to read Articles to study Etc. etc. etc. My Situation: I’m 16 years old, and a freshman in high school (for about 2 more weeks) on the west coast. Then comes summer, and with that, many social opportunities. I read The Game last year, and that is how I became aware of this entire culture (picking up girls as a hobby, etc.) I’m known in school as the nice, funny guy. I’m friends with boys and girls, measuring all over the popularity scale, but I myself am not considered a “cool guy.” I’m not really athletic or big, and my self-esteem is not the greatest. I’m mostly shy. Sometimes…just sometimes, I really am myself, and have 0 problems. But for the most part, I’m just a shy guy…uncomfortable in social situations. This is strange for me, I think, because I never was shy previous to middle school and high school, when social interactions weren’t a main focus. When I was younger and went on a plane, I would go to every seat in the plane and introduce myself…but this was when I was about 6 years old. Now, I think I just overanalyze and subconsciously put my mind in a poor state to be friendly, open and confident. My Problems: I basically said everything above, but I’ll restate it in a more simplified way. I’m shy. Don’t really have any good noticeable “pick-up” qualities to make me appealing, ie. I’m no star of the basketball team. My confidence is often lacking. It’s difficult to look many people in the eyes. I hate being called on in class, or reading anything out loud in class, to the point I’ll skip the class, if I know it’ll happen. I’m no Mr. Smooth I don’t see myself as a physically attractive person…although I’ve been told differently. I’m uncomfortable with myself and essentially, who I am, in many respects. -- So basically, I just need some help correcting all of this. I know a little of NLP, and I’ve read about all of this stuff, but it is all so complicated. I don’t really need information on picking up girls in bars yet. I just need some help becoming that Mr. Smooth. Can anyone help? |

I'm not sure what you have read but I can recommend the mystery method as a starting point then branch out from there. Welcome to the forums and good luck! I wish I knew about this community when I was 16.. |

Yeah, thats the thing. I know I'm young so if I get some good advice now and get on the right track, I'll be pretty good at this by the time I get to college.
