Not sure why I need 30 posts to post in the AA section cause I would have posted this there but Ill post it here instead. Ive got MAJOR approach anxiety, MAJOR. Im not sure why but when I see a girl in a store that I want to meet I wont approach her, its fucked up. I know ill never see her again if she rejects me, but I still dont. Maybe because I havnt reached rock bottom yet, I have girls in my life but they choose me. I want more, and higher quality girls. Yesterday in Chapters, I caught a smoking brunette eyeing me from around the corner, then she went to the relationship section right beside me to look at books, and I stood there like a chode and didnt say a word, I froze. How do I get rid of this fucked up condition? |

I'm pretty sure bro that this anxiety doesn't go away. But I think you should really teach yourself to have fun with it. Make it a challenge! This is a "Game" rite. So have fun with it and cultivate a sense of accomplishment when you overcome that feeling. This is all big talk, I know. I struggle with this every time as well but, everything I've read and seen says that, the way you approach this fear can effect the outcome tremendously! So have fun and let it be a challenge, something that you can push through and feel good about it afterwards. Also, have you heard of the "3 second rule"? I'm not talking about food that you drop on the floor. Its a technique that is supposed to help you learn to push through your anxiety of approaching. I'm sure you are aware that the longer you sit and think, the more your anxiety grows. Then something happens and you lose your chance. I do this too... So the "3 second rule" is a promise that you make to yourself that when you see your target, you allow yourself no more then 3 seconds before you approach. Its incredibly hard for me, but it is supposed to really help you learn to overcome your fear, even though it will still be there. ~Chosen |
