Post subject:  My first steps

Hi all.

I joined the forum today, so I'm just saying hi.

I'm reading The Game, and have much to learn.

The first things I've learn't from the book are to try and smile at women as I walk past, and make small polite comments such as "its cold today", they say yeah/yes, I say "have a nice day" and I keep going.

When I have dinner at my local Bistro, I normally keep my head down, no small talk, and i don't get any.

But now I'm making an effort to smile when I'm ordering dinner and any interaction with the staff. this evening I gave the waitress a big friendly smile as I said hi, she responded with lots of happy energy so i said, "Your in a great mood ! whats your secret ?" She said "Sugar", and we all started laughing. I know she's paid to be friendly, but its such a fast change in the way they normally relate to me, all it took was a smile and some positive inflection in my voice.

I know its a humble beginning. I'm in for the long haul, and plan to join a public speaking course, and get some decent outfits to wear ANY TIME I leave the house.

On clothes... I did a bit of googling and came across this guy : http://imagedoc.com.au/ he charges $$$ to develop an outfit matrix I can buy from stores in my area. Can anyone suggest a cost effective way to get some decent outfits that don't advertise "I've given up and DGAF" ?

I'm 44 years old, and live about a 45min drive south of Brisbane City in Australia. I hope to get in contact with guys who can mentor me and go sarging with.

I hope to see you guys in the game.

Look at that, you're already seeing positive changes/responses!

Great start!

That image/style consultant actually looks pretty legit. Normally I wouldn't recommend something like that, but this guy seems good especially if you need an overhaul in this area. Otherwise, keep it with clean looks that fit your style. No sweat pants, no sweat shirts, etc.

Keep going, prepare to get rejected, prepare to stumble, but in the end, believe me IT IS ALL WORTH IT!

Welcome to the forum remus.

That can be a good idea hiring an image consultant. A lot of guys have no idea about fashion and it takes someone specialized to tell these guys what to wear. And then by wearing nice stylish clothes their approaches and pickups will go better than normal.

I also am based in SE QLD. If you know of any good PU spots send me a PM.

Hi Mate,

It's good to see that you are trying! Age does not matter it is only a mindset!

I would always recommend style and image are important but at the end of the day you NEED and MUST have confidence.

Try to stay away from doggy pick up lines, most will not work. However I would suggest you go to http://thepickupmasters.com/dirty-pick-up-lines/ to learn a few to try out. Now not saying they will work but you know what, if you have the balls to say this you will definitely have enough confidence to talk to any women.

Best of luck my friend!
