Post subject:  Hello from Brussels

So, no bullshit - long story short - I live in Brussels, Belgium, originally from an Eastern European nation, but speak English perfectly. I have been with my girlfriend for 7 years - we met in college. We decided to open our relationship so she's out there already meeting other people, while I realised that my game is shit. Haven't dated in 7 years, and even back in college, she happened more by accident than anything else.
So, need to step up my game but don't really know how and where to begin and if I should tell my friends - majority of whom are also her friends - that I am dating - this becomes complicated if I want to hookup when I a, with them. The last hurdle is the language: Everyone speaks French or Flemish, so I am not sure if my speaking English is an asset or not.
I hear you guys are quite awesome so hopefully we shall see where this goes.

I'm from Flanders and all I can say is that most young people speak English pretty fluently.

I don't think speaking English is an asset, especially if you don't have some sexy British accent but in Flanders it shouldn't really hold you back.

Most Walloons' English is way way worse but since you're in Brussels most people there are pretty multilingual so depending on what environment you're visiting you should be OK.

Also if you really want an English speaking, young crowd I suggest going to an Erasmus party in Brussels or in Leuven, which is like 15min by train.

Good luck
