About 5 or 6 years ago, a roommate told me about PUAs and the book The Game. I was instantly fascinated, as I never really thought that there could be a science behind picking up women.

>how long you've been studying and practicing pickup
I've researched and dabbled for a while. Using techniques as the situation presents itself. But nothing serious in terms of it being a numbers game and keeping statistics. I'll go after one or two women in a night, but only if I'm really feeling it and it *feels* right.

>which pickup method(s) you like to use
I really like what Sasha Daygame and Nick Sparks have to say on the matter. About being direct and not beating around the bush. Along with better eye contact and not talking too much. Which has worked shockingly well in terms of the kind of response I get. But, like I said, I only go for it when it feels right, and I only go so far.

>what your hobbies/passions are
I'm into performing and martial arts

>what your goals are
Stop worrying and start having fun

>and whatever back story you wish to share with us.
I have a lot going for me, yet I often hesitate when it comes to women. I have talents, ambition; I workout fairly regularly, I eat well, and I don't think I'm bad looking. But I worry about ridiculous things like, I'm not white and I'm not tall (Middle eastern / Indian decent and 5'8 [cause I know you wanna know :) ]), or what other people around me will think. And, without taking a dive into the depths of my pathology, I often get a bunch of anxiety which I feel is due to the ridicule I received as a foreign child, and the rejection I got through High School and College. Over the years, I've tried to improve on my own. I have had some luck, but with a lot of heartache - so most often I don't even try. I'm looking to change that, and I think it starts with committing. This post here is the first big step for me in doing so. It's me coming to terms with I can't do it by myself and I need some help. And you have my promise that I'll continue to help others.

I hope to start getting out there with like-minded, good hearted people such as yourselves. Especially since I live in a prime location for going out in San Francisco. Now I just need to start putting it to good use!

Welcome to the forum! That's great that you're focusing on game as that is the fastest and best way to get better. Feel free to ask questions here and there are plenty of people willing to help. SF is great for gaming. I used to live in SF and know a bunch of wings out there. I'll send you a PM.

One of the best pieces of advice anyone can tell you going into this pickup thing is that you should never lose sight of what you learned from performance art. Pickup has many correlations with it. It's all about shared emotional experiences.
