Post subject:  Need Help Pittsburgh, PA (USA) recovering alcoholic
Hi I'm new. I'm a recovering alcoholic. I keep noticing new and very attractive women taking interest in me at meetings (like a club for recovering alcoholics I guess). I'm really shy and nervous and either don't talk to them, talk too little to them and they move on, or talk to them a few times and then avoid them out of fear when I see them again. I just got a really hot girl's number 5 days ago, but am not sure if I should keep texting or try calling and when to stop texting or calling and back off. She definitely showed interest when I talked to her, even telling me she told some guys she's single to get more tips. Last year I went out with a girl a few times, and felt she lost interest and gave up. Except she didn't, I gave up. And then started dating a girl I'm in the friend zone with, have "oneitis" for and almost slept with her. I don't know what to do. I'm asking my friends for help, but most just tear me apart.

Hey. I don't have any advice for you but best of luck. I was in recovery. At least you have something in common with these girls. They may not be good partners, though, especially if they relapse. If you're in recovery, dating a girl who is an active alcoholic will fuck you up bad. That much I can tell you. You don't want a reason to relapse, so look out for yourself first.

So, my best advice is to try to have fun with this girl because you may not want her as a partner. So don't worry so much about whether it works for you or not, just try to use the routines you build up to get her to sleep with you. Also, you may want to find some other meetings to go to if things get rocky. Rumors spread pretty fast in these groups.

As far as how to use routines and whatever, I have no idea, I'm just telling you not to take your interactions with girls in recovery too seriously because they are troubled people.

Finally, smoke a lot of weed. I used to be hooked on painkillers and booze. I started smoking dope and gave up everything else and I became very productive as a result. I wrote a master's thesis for school, wrote some scientific papers, and now I work as a computer programmer and I'm high most of the time. If you need SOMETHING in your system try switching to weed. You can't die from it, it won't hurt you, you can't overdose from it, you can still function at work... Just a thought.

go to AA you get put on the human frequency AA which is like revelations it s a good system

Thanks you guys. I'm definitely glad I got on this forum and am grateful for the help. I bought and read the rules of the game and subscribed to gamblers pua university a few years ago When I was drinking. Talking to girls since I've been in AA and has been a totally different experience and it feels like I have no idea what to do. Really attractive women pay attention to me, and I can see that. I either get too scared to talk to them or I do and am too scared to try attracting them and would like suggestions on exercises to get over approach anxiety. Or what to do once I get a girl's number. How to keep things going at that point, or how to know to move on. I give up very easily assuming they're no longer interested in me.
