Psychology as well as the art of picking up girls has always intrigued me. When I was recommended the book The Game by Neil Strauss I read the book and immediately purchased countless of books. I don't mean to be a bit of an arse but I am a very good looking guy (hence my username, which my mates have given me, once I started modelling). I have the sets down, I have my info nailed, I know for a fact that when I am engaged in a conversation I can do all of the steps, the negs, the openers, conveying personality and internet the lot.. HOWEVER! Today I saw a pair of girls, (I have bad eye sight, but I don't wear my glasses in public), but I was with my father and my cousin who is 8, even though these 2 girls constantly checking me out etc. So I then went up there straight away afterwards to get some shopping (which we actually needed). They noticed me go into the shop, then as I was in the cue I saw them enter the shop, as soon as I left they also left just after me without buying anything, still continuing to check me out. It was solid, I could easily go to them and say "I'm in a hurry (which I was, and they knew from my brisk walking), but I should get your number" and I knew that I could get it. Some fafel occurred, by far breaking Mystery's 3 second rule, and due to me shopping and them having Morrison bag I said "excuse me, can you tell me where Morrisons is please", she goes on explaining (I realise they aren't actually as good looking as I thought and I wouldn't really take them on a date and continue etc.) However I still wanted to get the number to build my own game and confidence up as practice is perfect. But I lost it, I don't know why, sometimes I sarge with some friends and I am so confident I will talk to anyone any time (once I have gotten into it a bit), but not I know the knowledge of the game, I just said "oh ok thanks" and we parted ways. Does anyone have any ways I can increase my confidence or to have what Neil Strauss and Mystery call 'God Mode' when like I said previously when I am with my friends I am in, like I can talk to anyone with full confidence. Sorry -- give me a minute. I need time to recover from being so close to your shocking good looks and massive ego, there, catwalk... If you're as breathtakingly awesomely great looking as you say, you'll need about half as much game as the rest of us... Take a step back and calm down next time. Count to 3 and just do it. Don't think about it. Don't think of a line or something to say. Just walk up and say hi, and introduce yourself. The opener doesn't matter as long as you don't say something like "you look like a dumb cunt"... Smile and when you shake her hand, don't let go... hold it longer than you should and keep talking and smiling. Asking for directions isn't bad... You could have played off that one into asking where they're from, what they're up to today, and then not even tried to get a number immediately... After a minute of talking you could have just said "you know, it's a beautiful day, I'm gonna grab a beer. Why don't you come with me"? And turned it into an instadate. You don't have to do everything systematically like the books tell you to. |
