Hey Guys,

I'm new here and though best to introduce myself. My alias is JohnieD, I'm 24 years old and I work as a programmer for IBM.

I'm from Sydney Australia.

I've never had much of a social life and picking up women is still quite new to me. I must admit approaching women make me extremely nervous. I have been a bit of a nerd, hence the programmer occupation I guess.

This is definitely an area I need to work on.

Where to begin...

I wanted to know What are the top 10 things everyone should know about picking up women before they start to hit the clubs?

1) YOU ARE NOT SELLING SHIT! You are not advertizing, You are not asking "do you like that?" What you are doing is buying. If you ever bought anything in your life, buy this: "Do I like that girl? Why would I want to have sex with her? Maybe she appears attractive, but is she really? I mean REALLY attractive.

2)Always have fun. You are having fun because you are learning about her. Most improtantly you are learning about yourself. You are learning that you like to talk to girls. You are learning that its ok to say, "I like to watch girls giggle, get all mushy etc. Its fun!!!" They look better than the bros right? And just maybe, if shes not batshit crazy, you may like to have sex with that one....-over there.

Thats about 1 and 2 for starters....

Don't try to change who you are, just improve it.

Confidence is key. Mumbling, avoiding eye contact and hesitance is not attractive.

It's all about fun. You have to stand out from the slew of other guys she knows so make it fun.

Rejection is not the end. Evaluate, adjust and retry. (Try posting a rough account on here for advice if you're unsure how or why it went awry)

There is nothing to fear but fear itself. We've all been rejected, done something stupid or made a fool of ourselves at one point and we're all still alive. If you're not alive and reading this PM me ;)

Always make sure the woman is doing at least 70-80% of the texting, calling, talking, chasing... you name it.

When you get a number (which doesnt really mean anything these days) use it to phone ONCE A WEEK and set a definite date. Then don't contact her again until the date - the more you do, the more chances she has to cancel/flake.

Keep your options open; don't get oneitis, if you can help it.

FMAC principle as recommended by Style (Neil Strauss, Refer to the book "The Game" a must read)

Find: Choose your style Night game or Day game
Night game more physical on the d-floor but can also be very intellectual, Day game more Intellectual and chicks are not as loose which you can use to your advantage (takes time)

Meet: Approach anxiety - massive issue with everyone, i have been in your situation, when start easiest thing is to open store clerks or information desk people at a shopping mall or other.

opener can be a question like: (Style's model) Go up to a set (women/group of women) and ask them "can ask you/you guys a question" introduce a time constraint (so they know there not stuck with you) "just quickly before i get back to my mates" root the opener and ask the question "my mates and i were having a discussion on who lies more, men or women?, what do you think?"

Add your own bit of the conversation in so you don't become a robot, i.e. i think chicks actually teach guys to lie because they ask us if they look good in this dress etc have a laugh whatever.

1. Try new things
2. Have fun
3. Don't give a fuck

You're going to get good only if you practice and try out new things.
You're going to keep practicing only if you have fun (viewing this as a chore is the best way to quit :) )
And during this you are going to get many positive and negative reactions - don't give a fuck about them - focus on having fun and meeting new and exciting people.

This in my opinion is the best way to improve your skills.

I know I have already replied but getting on a little more serious note, the best advice I can give is to reach that true inner confidence that allows you to feel comfortable in your own skin and BEING YOURSELF. You can fake an attitude and persona all you want, and you will attract women here and there. But they will have unaligned values and your connection with her will be false.

By doing this, you naturally stop giving a fuck about others expectations and really embrace what and who you want to be.

Also, tell yourself you already know the girl you are approaching, and behave in accordance with that implication.

1) Try,dont let failure get in your way from rising out of your depreesed shell

2) Be confident,nothing is ever achieved or gotten without being having a sense belief about yourself!

3) Work,picking up girls and being cool can be work for some people,but getting over the first hurdle can
make everything all the more easier!

4) Have fun,picking up girls is everything,but make sure you have the right balance in life of fun and
lovein your life

5) Breathe breathing deeply is the greatest way to get into a confident relaxed manner which girls love

some of these have been touched on be other posters!
