| Post subject: | Hello from Germany |
Hello, I will just quickly introduce myself to everyone here. I am 34 years old and living in Germany. Currently single even though there is this one girl I am pretty much interested in (opened up a topic on it already). Amazingly I have to deal with a whole bunch of different people at work every day (doctor at a hospital) and absolutely have no problem with that at all. Guess that has to do with me being comfortable with my profession, knowing that I have been in med-school and thus know a great deal about the specific field I am working in. But when it comes to private life or rather women, I am the complete opposite. Basically dating is a pain for me. I have a hard time expressing my feelings as well as reading women. I tent to interpret too much into a girl not texting for a day and this drives me crazy. I had long-term-relationships but being single again is not easy. So that is me in a nutshell... |

Hi man, I am also German and also new here. I am currently dating a nurse and for me it seems that nurses are one of the best type of girls. Have you never tried to date a nurse? I mean you would not have do DHV much as you are a doctor and by that have already a high status to them. Interested to get to know more about your progress. Regards |

I try not to fuck the company, so to speak. At least I don't want to date anyone that works at the same hospital as I do. Plus, I try to separate private and work life as much as possible. I know that some doctors run around bragging about what they do and thus attract girls/women. Personally I don't do that. Would be nice to have them like me for the person I am and not what I am making a living of. |

Dude you are doctor, by what your job defines you in a way! You are one of the very rare person that have a job they live for. You shouldnt seperate your job from your person! I would recommend in another way if you were investment banker (like i am) because thats nothing personal, you know? Why shouldnt girls dont like you because you are doctor? It is a big part of you and your personality, so why bother if that attracts them?! Would you feel awkward dating a nurse? Cheers sky lets-go-skyrocket-vt174976.html |

This probably came over the wrong way. I absolutely have no problem dating a nurse, in fact, the one girl I am seeing/or not seeing at the moment (girl-drives-me-crazy-vt174896.htm), is a nurse. Just not at the hospital I am working at. Of course my job is a huge part of my life, I never doubted that. And if a girl asks me what I do, I do tell them. BUT I don't go around bragging about what I do. I have a few friends, doctors as well, that use their job to their advantage in order to get in bed with women/girls. Me, I don't see myself doing that (yet). Wouldn't that attract too many superficial girls? "Shitty personality, but hey, he is a doctor... I don't care about the rest..." Maybe I am too picky? |

There's a huge difference between going around and bragging like a pretentious snob and DHV. Everyone is superficial to some extent. Whenever I hear doctor, lawyer, etc., my mind automatically compares to what I've dated in the past. If I hear that I think "this guy's got his shit together. He's educated, ambitious, and dedicated." Welcome to the forums friend: ) don't be afraid to mention what you do for a living. As far as being analytical, I'm much the same way. I read into everything. It helps to have a rotation. 3 or 4 people you talk to regularly to keep your mind of the one that got under your skin. |

You are probably right to have more than one option at a time. Even though I have to admit that this girl really got under my skin and I can't even explain why. Maybe it has to do with the fact that she is a nurse and thus around doctors all the time. So she knows that we are nothing special, just regular human beings with flaws as well. That is something I really appreciate. Kind of keeps you grounded if you are not looked at as something special. The way you put it, " he got his shit together, is educated and ambitious...", this puts a different perspective on it as well. Just not sure if that is the first thought a girl has when I tell her what I do. The current girl, she just understands the demands of the job but at the same time makes no big deal about it either. So yeah, I really gotta try getting her out of my head. I really am not used to myself acting like I do at the moment... Looking at my cell, hmmm, no message or call, even though she was online an hour ago. Why doesn't she write? It really annoys me at times... |
