My real name is Shaun (PUA name: Benji89), I'm 24 from Rayleigh, Essex, UK.
I first got into the PUA community in January 2013, of course by having read 'The Game'.
What got me reading that was because I had been dumped by an HB5 in September 2012 and back then I took break-up's badly. I had all the classic symptoms of an AFC. Anyhow, in December 2012 me and a friend went clubbing in Southend's Mayhem Nightclub one night and met two small sized rock chicks. Except everything went wrong. I said "hi" to them and my mate loudly voiced that I had not introduced myself properly and that I should give them a kiss on the cheek. As I went to kiss one of the girls on the cheek my mate raised his arm and knocked me hard in the face causing me to lightly head-butt the girl I was going to kiss. At that point, something struck me, I needed to do something about this; about me.
That's when I remembered reading an article in the paper about how Harry Styles used a book to attract women by using insults. I looked this article up on the big WWW and found out about Neil Strauss a.k.a Style. I bought and read the book, watched videos and gained an underlying vision of the PUA community.
Needless to say I slowly started putting routines and techniques into practice and it was showing results. Not great results. But I was talking to more women, hotter women, than I ever had on nights out. Friends were so impressed they wanted to know where I was getting it from. I gave them the info, but they still use me because they can't be arsed to look into it themselves (shame on them). Anyway, come April 2013 I had managed to attract an HB6.5-7 and ended up in a relationship with her. yes, I used a few techniques to woo her too. She even confirmed to me small things that I did that made her go wild for me and she didn't even know I picked them up in the PUA community. So this stuff works. (My aim, by the way is to find a long-term relationship. 'The one', perhaps.) I dropped all recognition with the PUA community and focused my attention on my relationship.
I moved in with her and a few friends and nine months later our relationship mutually ended (We're still friends). There were a lot of complications, as always. However, I was made to look the better one in the relationship out of the two of us and I was happy with that.
Had it not been for the PUA community, I would probably be wrapped up in a ball and feeling stupidly depressed, right about now. However, I now know better.
I'm back in the game. I have a mountain of books and videos by Neil Strauss, Adam Lyons, Kezia Noble, Gambler and the 21Convention. Books and videos on NLP, Self-esteem and grooming standards. I'm turning into a fitness freak and am starting a weight training program (bulking). Also I am visiting beauty salons to get my body hair and nails looking flash and using fashion conscious friends (mostly girls) to help me find new threads. I say it now, it's been 6 days since my break-up. I'm feeling good and my future is looking better.
All this is not to say I know it all, because I don't. That's why I am here, to learn. The world keeps going and so do I!
