Post subject:  I am a textbook case

Hi everyone I will avoid using my real name since I am not quite comfortable to admit my shortcomings.

I am a 24 year old "non white" male who has never played the game, mostly because I never wanted too. For all the common reasons. Growing up I never cared, and just focused on studying. Never left to do anything Friday or Saturday nights. Just Stayed at home.

So I have little to no luck with women. Yet I have various Star Wars memorabilia. A huge collection of video games that date back to the last 20 years of my life. The currently library fills a 6 drawer dresser, and more in boxes and tubes around my house, and a box full of comics. I never really got too into comics. I built my own Desktop PC since I was 5. Geek/Nerd would be a great short hand. Close to being done with college, my job as an intern is currently software development where I stare at a screen for 9 to 5. Hell, I already have one degree.

last summer I made an effort to improve my health, I started working out and eating healthier, and I can now easily do pull ups at 5-10 rep bursts through out the day, I never tested to see my "max", probably did near 100 in one day, but my point is I couldn't even do one pull-up at the start of the year. I think I actually lost 20 pounds. So basically what I am trying to say is, I have been trying to improve myself, but I know its not enough, and that hasn't really helped me at all in anyway.

I also see that there are guys way fatter then me doing way better then I have ever done. I have no problems talking to women. I can hold a conversation easily. My problem is that none of my conversations seem to hold any interest to them. The ones that do take to my conversation, I tend feel I "creep out".

So basically I feel like I'm always a creeper. What brings me here though you might ask?

So I finally tried at online dating sites, and this is where I hit rock bottom. I know that online dating sites are a sin among pick-up artist from what I do remember reading, but then I wouldn't be having this issue in the first place. Long story short, I message like 50 women. One of them actually responds. Go back and forth for a bit. She deletes her account, lovely.

So that is an introduction to me.

Hey man, A lot of guys start out where you are at now. Especially in the pick up community.
It's great that you started to improve your health. I always say being in shape -> confidence -> succes.

Have you seen mystery's show the pick up artist? Maybe start with watching that ;)
You can really some nerdy guys transform and learn some basic PUA stuff.
Change and succes is possible for everyone! (You have to be willing to go through a pain-period though)

Welcome mate,

Louie

That's good to know. What is pain-period?

Usually a term used by bodybuilders when you want to become stronger and more muscled you have to go through a period of pain because of training.

However I used this word because when you start out with picking up chicks you'll get rejected ALOT in the beginning. You could see this as a pain period ;-) Once you get better you will get rejected less and care less.

Update: I also found it on Neil Strauss his wikiquote.

"In order to excel at anything, there are always hurdles, obstacles, or challenges one must get past. It's what bodybuilders call the pain period. Those who push themselves, and are willing to face pain, exhaustion, humiliation, rejection, or worse, are the ones who become champions. The rest are left on the sidelines."
