Hello all, I'm Doru and I'm new to this forum. I'm 21 years old and I'm currently located in Baltimore, MD. I like to longboard, draw, write, and cook. I'm also incredibly passionate in my current job as a reproductive scientist. I first got into the game around four and a half years ago, when I first wooed a girl outside of a relationship. At this point, I didn't know I was playing the game. I called it "life-hacking"--using trial, error, and observations to create patterns and foster attraction. While the main point of life-hacking was to attract women, I found it especially helpful in making friends and professional relationships, too. My life-hacks were rather successful. In fact, this past summer, I've taught a couple of my friends what I've figured out, and now they're seeing some success. However, I crashed and burned at the end of the summer. A bad break-up sent me spiraling into a deep depression. I became an AFC. I fell into fits of anger and anxiety which seemed to get worse over time. Since then, I've only approached two women, who I am now avoiding. Perhaps I'll give a bit more backstory in another post. Anyway, these fits grew worse and worse and it was beginning to affect my relationships with my friends and family, as well as my health and academic and professional life. A few days ago, that changed. I was wandering in my local bookstore, when I turned around and found it--a big, prominent, black leather bound book with "THE GAME" printed in gold on the cover. I picked it up and read the first three chapters. Done. I was sold. I bought it and read half of the book in one sitting. I started feeling better already. "The Game" helped me pinpoint the sources of my frustration. It also helped me to realize that I was not treating myself with the respect that I deserve. Hell, over the course of the past few days, I've started working out again, eating right, and overhauling my wardrobe. I'm beginning to like myself and my existence. I've set up a few long-term and short-term goals for myself. My long-term goal is to get myself back to where I was in the past and excede it using the knowledge from this site and other resources that I've started to stockpile. I want to be able to enjoy my last year of college to the fullest possible extent. My short term goals at the moment are to work on myself. I want to maintain these healthy habits that I've picked up. I've also given myself the task of flirting with one new woman a day. I've also picked up a few of the tricks and techniques mentioned in "The Game" but I haven't really been in a situation where I could do some full-on sarging in the past few days. I picked up a florescent, bright-orange beanie and a pair of white wayfarers that I've been beginning to wear daily. I've also been wearing a necklace I picked up in Greece that I'm willing to give up as a prop in a close. I've also been super conscious of my posture and body language. I'm looking forward to joining the PUA community and learning from it. I will, however, maintain a critical eye and attempt to separate what actually works from the pseudoscience and bullshit. I'm excited to get to know all of you and what you have to offer. |

Awesome. I haven't read the game in a while. It's a great read and gets so many people into pick-up! From what you have written I think you know what you want out of pick-up and you are definitely going at it the proper way. You will have no problems learning pick-up and applying it. I've never done the peacocking to the extent of how pua's like Mystery did in The Game. I think that if you peacock then you have to be comfortable with it. I prefer to just be smartly dressed and fashionable. I couldn't rock a florescent orange beanie. It would clash with my outfits ha |
