Hey everyone,

I'm really new to this. I'm ready to see the PUA scene that Pittsburgh has to offer. My name's John, but I don't think I have a very good alias yet (my site name is Toiminator, but I can't imagine that going over too well in a social situation).

Anyway, I've never had much success with women. Not any, actually. I'm 22, recently graduated from college, and, remarkably enough, still a virgin.

I started reading a few of the books, but I feel like reading isn't doing enough. I'm really looking for someone who might be able to help guide me along in my "studies" and get some field experience. I live in Pittsburgh, PA.

Any advice for a nervous newbie?

Welcome :)

It's great to see new guys really getting into this forum.

Check out the "Worthwhile Threads" sticky at the top of the "Introduce Yourself" forum, and also familiarise yourself with the rules, also in a sticky.

I would recommend reading "The Game", and any other books or articles from gurus who interest you. Important: Don't take this too seriously, don't let it over-run your life and don't over-analyse things.

Other advice for new guys is to improve your looks (plenty of guides online), improve your inner game before anything else, and get out there and practice! i.e. avoid focusing too much on theory and not enough on practice. Also try out the "Newbie Mission" to get over your nervousness (called "Approach Anxiety" or AA) - don't be afraid of rejection or failure, as it happens to all of us - simply laugh it off. Remember to take something away from every approach and learn from it, whether it's a good or bad one.

Also, drop the Star Wars quotes - no offence but chicks don't dig it.

Be open-minded and don't focus too much on one particular method - try bits of them all (and especially don't worship any gurus!).

There's so much to learn and I'm sure other guys will post plenty of advice too.

Anyway, welcome again, and have fun :).
