So, I decided to use a text opener that I found on this forum. Here's how it went.
Me: Hey, can you do me a favor? Just text me back saying "hi" or something
Her: Hey!
Me: That'll work just fine. My friends said that retards can't text. We'll show them lil buddy lol
Her: Not cool dude... Spread the word to end the word... my brother has mental retardation
Me: I don't mean offense to you or your brother, but I don't really subscribe to that way of thinking. I believe that offense can never be given, only taken.
Her: I'm just kidding anyway lol

Moral of the story: Hold your ground, don't crumble to your knees begging forgiveness and compromise your beliefs. That's a beta move, yo.
