I am a tall skinny guy. safe to say I was a nerd growing up. I have changed though, but I still have glasses and dress maybe too nice at times. The othe day I got off work and went to a fair in my appropiate work attire (nice jeans and a button up basic editions shirt tucked in) as Im walking passed this group of young guys, i hear one utter "ha...looks like a White Steve Urkel! hahaha" Part of me wanted to turn around and confront this asshole but I kept walking with that insult in my head. It made me feel NERDY again as I walked through the crowds and my mind started wondering what everyone else sees when they look at me. So I havent worn that shirt since then! LOL. But I watch all these pua videos and Keys to the vip....most the guys wear these button type shirts, what is my problem? do you tuck it in or not, does that fucking matter? I have ioi's from girls whether im dressed like a white urkel or wearing an ac/dc shirt...I am a very attractive guy, no brad pitt, but very good looking from what women friends/fam tell me.
should i focus on my fashoin or just not let that bother me?
Then again i only get laughed at by the masculan bad boy dudes who look down on me, while the cute girl in the crowd WILL eye me...why is that???

Do what you like man, care less for other's opinions of you. Don't let those around you dictate who you shall be, create your own persona that plays by your rules.

While I am with Asserter, in that you should wear what you like, I think you may want to see about changing up your style some or at least how you wear clothes. I am not saying you should dress a certain way or something but I think taking look at todays fashion won't hurt you as I have a feeling you need to update what you wear.

By the way, tucking a shirt in while wearing jeans doesn't look too good. If you want to tuck a shirt in while keeping it business casual wear dockers instead.

Wearing what you like is all well and good if you've ever actually given any thought to your style. If you haven't, well, maybe it's time to start.

Post up some pictures of you in the outfit you're talking about and I'll give you my best critique.

Your boy,

Well, all of us have their own style, apart from the ones who copy other PUAs. What I did was that I started wearing the kind of clothes that I have always wanted to wear but felt that I didnt deserve to wear.

So rockstar for me. But if you feel better wearing something else, then thats you. The point is that when you have come so far that you dont apologize for what you wear, when your clothes are YOUR clothes, then you are safe whatever direction you wanna go.

Try to create your own style, and don't be bothered by other people's opinions :).

I have had very random styles. I get made fun of for sometimes wearing a heavy bracelet or necklace... Sticks and stones? Who cares?

ITS YOUR STYLE. It does not belong to anyone else.

At the end of the night, let people make fun of your style. You will be the guy fucking the girl that the guys who made fun of you were too afraid to speak to :D

Just adding to my response, you mentioned some guys on keys to the VIP, etc.

DO NOT copy their style. Mystery dresses like a crazy magician, Matador dresses like a guy from the south, Gambler dresses like a fancier guy from the U.K., Adam Lyons dresses like a hipster. There is no correct style because each PUA found their own style.

Would a fat guy wear a proper button down where his belly pops out or would he maybe copy what the godfather or a mobster where he would look pretty cool?

Would Mystery wear a classy outfit where he would seem too odd to be wearing or would he wear a crazy magician outfit to suit his style?

Would a guy who was a nerd growing up wear a button down just to copy other PUAs and because people make fun of him or would he do his own style and know that he can rock it?

Don't tuck in your shirt unless you are wearing slacks or dress pants. That is just basic common sense man. I agree to roll with what you wear, but tucking in your shirt into jeans is pretty square. I have never seen anyone look good with their shirt tucked into JEANS(exception being suspenders). I am a nerd as well, I wear it like a badge, but I refuse to tuck in my shirt unless it is a dress shirt and I am wearing slacks.

Don't take it personal, take any criticism as constructive criticism. Something that requires a slight adjustment. It is good you dress well but you'd be surprised what one small thing like not tucking in your shirt can do for you appearance.

I wouldn't worry about it at all. If you are doing good with ladies what hit could it possibly be on your pride? I mean these guys have to make you feel small to make themselves feel good, that says more about them than it does about you. They are pretty insecure, style means so much to them that they base being a person on their appearance.

Keep your style, maybe add some slight modifications to what you do with it is my recommendation.

Try to dress with a purpose. Clothes are a kind of anchor, people assume things about you based on what you wear. Think about what kind of vibe or image you want to give off, then go into a clothing store and ask the people working there to help you achieve that look. Of course, walking the walk and talking the talk is more important, but clothing ought not be overlooked. Make sure everything is consistent, you dont want to dress like a nerd while talking like a smooth operator while standing like a bored gas station attendant

Thanks for all the advice guys! Its appreciated beleive me! I think Im focusing too much on my overall looks/dress, when I should dismiss that and worry about the approach in general. Like mystery said "if you can't do it in just plain jeans and a tshirt, then you shouldnt do it at all..." Is that true?

However I still need a fashion upgrade. Whether Im that cute guy or not, I want to walk into a place and have the girls think "hmm, cute...whos that??" lol

They say to pick a favorite celebrity and looks at their fashion and make your own modifications? Well being a hard rock fan, I love metallica and I love this whole pua mindset. Im thinking of a GK meets Lars Ulrich kind of a look. But not too over the edge. Gettin contacts, maybe a bracelet or two?

OK, there is a lot of work to be done here so this post could get lengthy. I'll apologize in advance and make every attempt to keep it brief, but I sincerely hope you take what I say to heart.

First thing's first, you've GOT to get some clothes that fit. What you're wearing in these pictures is at least two sizes too big. Your shirts should fit snugly (but not painted-on tight) and the collar should leave only enough room for two fingers to fit between it and your neck.

Also, I believe it is the Esquire guide to style that says something along the lines of "There is a 100% chance the guy wearing a collared short sleeve shirt has been called a putz in the last 24 hours." If it's not a polo, it needs sleeves, period.

Now, you have a very prominent nose, which is exacerbated by your lack of hair up top. Shaving your head ala Neil Strauss will only make things worse. Outside of Rogaine, the best advice I can give you here is a hat of some kind. Maybe a fedora. Not really my style, but it might work for you.

Then there's jeans. From what I can see of yours, they're awful. Now I'm not telling you to go buy distressed denim or anything, since at your age it would look more try-hard than stylish, but you might want to consider something that looks less Wal-Mart-y. A couple pair of designer jeans such as Seven or Lucky will go a long way.

Or, if you want to go for a more formal look, try ditching jeans altogether and wearing slacks or khakis. The key to pants is that the inseam be correctly-fitted to your body (otherwise the ass looks weird) and the legs "break" properly over your shoes. You might want to Google around for a picture or something showing what I'm talking about since it's a little complicated to explain in text.

Socks should match the color of whatever pants you're wearing. Shoes and belt should match. A tie, if you wear one, should end at the top of your belt buckle. You should always wear a pocket square if you're wearing a blazer of any kind.

Which reminds me: shoes are the most important part of your outfit, and the first thing women notice. A quality pair of shoes says numerous good things about you, primarily that you pay close attention to detail, which is always attractive no matter who's counting. If you don't know how to tell a quality pair of shoes from a shitty one, read this site: http://kinowear.com/blog

That's all I have time for right now. Hope this helps :)

Your boy,
870

I really appreciate the tips. I am going to the mall later this week and buy a few new items of clothing. Since I am 32, does it make me seem like im trying to be a young guy walking around in rock shirts? Some say youre 32 dress like a MAN, others say dress fun and loosen up, and have fun...i get mixed responses there.

I have heard that short-sleeve shirt theory many times. Not trying to defend my dress, but where I am its friggin 95 degrees at the moment, walking in long sleeves is hard, lol. but I understand what youre saying, thank you
